Quest for Infamy / Changes for version 1.2
« on: December 12, 2015, 07:49:41 AM »
Hi folks!

I just downloaded QFI v.1.2.  Is there a log of the changes from 1.1.2?

Thanks!

ill answer with a question.

Is there a reason to get the skill up? since you cant use it?

Ha ha!  The truth?  I'm kind of OCD about maxing out my stats in games like this!

OK, I'll bite.  Is there any way for a non-Rogue to increase their thief skills other than trying to steal items from merchants during the "buy" interface?

Is there any way to increase the Brigand's thief skills beyond the starting level of 5?

If I sent the save game file, would that help troubleshoot the problem?

Cool.  The funny thing is, it's such a perfectly timed bug that it honestly had me wondering if it was something I had done wrong!

Speaking of bugs...is the "oh shit" scenario where Roehm dies as soon as Rayford sets foot in thecrypt a bug, or is it a new puzzle or something that's been changed/added for 1.1?

I'm sure there are a lot I haven't noticed, but here are two that jumped out at me...

First of all, the farrier in the wheelchair...did you name him Niels just so he could be "Niels on Wheels"?

And the Anvil reference you threw in at the blacksmith's..."Metal On Metal"...that's awesome!   ;D

I noticed a couple more issues with my Brigand:

1.  When I climbed Von Darkles' balcony, I couldn't seem to climb back down!
2.  On the "rob the caravan" mission, you can use the map to go right to the bridge and then walk back south to the ambush.  You can do this without even encountering Kurdt on the road.

I'm having6 the same problem playing as Rogue...Rayford enters the crypt, Roehm says "Oh shit" and game ends.

Hmmm...I'm having exactly the same issue (Brigand, version 1.1.1 Humble).

Is the Humble version now the latest and greatest?

Heh, Kaldire, when you said you tried smoking out the kraken, that reminded me of something.  The only puzzle I needed a hint for in the entire game was finding the ingredient for the Float on a Cloud spell.  So when Prospero said I needed something that would normally float on air, I assumed it was either scent (the perfume) or smoke.  So there I am, trying to spray perfume on Prospero, lighting cigars and trying to blow smoke in his face!

One more weird one...

On my first playthrough as a Rogue, I robbed Von Darkles' house before he invited me to "tea".  I didn't do that deliberately - I just accidentally did things out of order.  Anyways, one of the ways to rob his house involves pushing the statue so that you can use it to access the upper level.  The next time I visited the city gates, I was invited to his house.  After taking my leave, I immediately went back inside, just because I was curious.  Sure enough, the statue was still moved and I was able to climb it in broad daylight, even with the mayor's housekeeper present!  Once upstairs, both Von Darkles and Voleris were there, but I couldn't interact with either of them.  Perhaps the easiest way to address this is to make Roehm unable to climb the statue during the day.

I hope none of this is taken as negative - I really do think this is a fantastic game and am trying to be helpful.  Can't wait for the patch!   ;D
