Hah, that's not even the version of Pac Man we all grew up with on the 2600.  It was like this - the maze was different than the arcade version; the "tunnels" were on the top and bottom, instead of the sides!

Oh, yes; I'm well aware of the actual debacle...   ;)

Over the last few years, however, I wondered what the Arcade Game would look like using the Atari 2600 graphics.  So, I made this mock-up over the last day or two!   :D

...Pac-Man on the Atari 2600 looking all that bad.

Must be the rose-colored glasses of my old age!

I hope it works. I've been hoping for QfI2 because the first part has quite an open ending.

It's not official / cannon, but...

Three-and-a-half years ago, I made a joke in another IQ thread that there was a "special" ending to QFI which gave a preview of QFI2.  I even provided a summary for everyone who couldn't find it in the game -- which was everyone, because it's not there.  It was all just nonsense I made up to tease my fellow QFI fans.

I still believe it has the feel of how a QFI2 sequel might start...

...the only people who got those were making way too much noise about their games. With the exception of Phoenix Online and The Silver Lining, where I think that was more a rabid and loud number of their fans were making way too much noise.

Sounds like it's a good thing that IA/IQ fans are more of the "sedated and mute" variety...

Hell, some might even go as far to say that IA/IQ fans are practically non-existent !!!

aha!  I've played The Order of the Thorne.  I hope that they will come out with another one once Roehme to Ruin is complete when Bt is better.

Yes, the plan is to finish the story with the second game, The Order Of The Thorne: Fortress Of Fire:

In the Land of Sunlight, the sudden appearance of a mysterious, menacing fortress plunges the isolated kingdom into darkness.  Brother Caradoc, a Knight in the Order Of The Thorne, and his squire, Patrick, are sent to find Brother Eoin and discover the cause of the chaos.  However, upon their arrival in the desolate land, Brother Caradoc is captured and Patrick is wounded.  Alone and untested, the young squire must now rescue Caradoc and defeat the Fortress of Fire.

I really want to see Kingdom of Sorrow.  Is there a download link for that anywhere for those of us who want to play it?    I think that it was unfinished, but it would still be neat-o to see what was developed.

Klytos specifically referenced the "never-going-to-be-released Kingdom of Sorrow" build, so I'm pretty sure that KOS won't ever be released...  Besides, most of the art assets were re-used for The Order Of the Thorne: The King's Challenge.

Likely, Klytos or someone will simply showcase a quick demo of KOS for what WAS completed...

IQ Chat / Kings Quest For Steve video upload?

For those of us unfortunate saps who missed the #KingsQuestForSteve video stream, will there be a link to the video anywhere?

I'm especially curious to see the "never-going-to-be-released Kingdom of Sorrow" build that Klytos made in action.

Backed this one from the first Kickstart, haven't had a chance to start it yet, but after seeing a demo some time back, I'm cautiously optimistic.

However, I'm not a fan of the "wrong place / wrong time" type of game, where you might miss crucial information and clues for no good reason -- it's penalizing the player through no fault of his/her own.  (Never got into Colonel's Bequest because of this.)

HOWEVER, it _is_ a good excuse for contrived replayabilty -- just to get all of the information you may have missed ... that is, if you liked the game enough the first time around !  ::)

Quest for Infamy / Re: Looking for hunter
« on: June 20, 2018, 10:00:28 PM »
Visa the Hunter can usually be found in one of the 4 screens at the North end of the South Woods; I believe it's designed to be a random encounter.

The helpful hunter will want payment of a sort for his help, but he does offer a couple of options, so you can choose how you want to pay him.

Hello stuck again. I am trying to find kyser wood. Can someone give me directions. Thanks

Boy, we are just getting swamped with questions about QFI, aren't we...   ;)

It was nothing compared to how they handled Enterprise when they first started it. (T'Pol)

What ?!?!?   :o

You mean there WASN'T a 'legitimate' reason for her to be 'nude' and have some sort of gel slathered all over her in while in quarantine in that one early episode?...

That's interesting, because I "heard" that Jeri only agreed to take the 7 of 9 role so long as they weren't going to tart up the character and place her in highly sexual storylines.

While it's true that those types of storylines were not present for her, the costumes they designed for Jeri definitely didn't help.   ::)

Voyager is unwatchable now, IMHO. The Borg stuff is cool, but they focus way too much on Seven and Janeway to the exclusion of the interesting characters.

While watching some of the recent fan convention question-and-answer session videos on YouTube a few months ago, evidently Kate Mulgrew was not pleased that they had to "sex-up" Voyager, and likely saw Jeri Ryan as a 'threat.'  As a result, she wasn't overly friendly towards Jeri during the rest of the series, which put a lot of tension on the rest of the actors -- especially Garrett Wang, who got emotional and teared-up at one point remembering & discussing the situation while on stage with Jeri; they weren't a 'happy family'...

I never saw it, but wasn't there one episode where they basically walk back a whole year of progress?

Yep, the two-parter "Year of Hell" from Season 4.  Kurtwood Smith (Clarence Boddicker [RoboCop] / Red Foreman [That 70's Show]) is a scientist whose people use a time-wave machine to erase enemies from existence, thereby empowering their own species after each opposing planet's progress is 'wiped clean.'  Unfortunately, one of the time-waves caused a plague decimating millions of his own people, including his wife.  So, he keeps getting more and more aggressive with 'alterations,' trying to undo or mend it, while Voyager is a constant thorn in his side.

A really good episode, and some of the music was released on a Voyager collection by La-La-Land records early last year...

• Force Awakens was fine for being a retelling of Star Wars ("A New Hope," for those born after 1977).

• Rogue One was a serviceable "war" movie, but the best parts were the space portions of the "Battle of Scarif" -- see the 8½-minute HD supercut that removes the other extraneous ~124 minutes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCVWm20fU0A

(To those outside of the US -- Sorry that YouTube won't let you see it, but take my word for it: it's _really_ cool...)

• For Last Jedi, the problem for me was one of the internal logic of the established Star Wars universe being ignored.  Forget about a blown-up Leia using the Force to fly in outer space, forget that 'tracking through Hyperspace' is now a thing; my problem is this:

Established:
1. The Rebels are almost out of fuel and can only jump to hyperspace one more time (regardless of the fact they can now be tracked).
2. The Rebels are trying to outrun the First Order (and Snoke's mega-warship) by flying through normal space.
3. The First Order is perfectly content to wait for hours... and HOURS... AND HOURS... until they eventually catch up and overtake the slightly-slower Rebel command ship.

Query:
The point of hyperspace is that it is a shortcut through normal space.  Why didn't Snoke's mega-warship or any of the First Order ships simply make 2 mini-hyperspace jumps to 'leapfrog' past the Rebel ship and cut them off?  One jump in ANY OTHER DIRECTION other than straight ahead (space is, like, 3D, you know, so let's not have an unintended "Holdo Maneuver" occur here), with the second jump positioning them right in front of the Rebel ship.  Why wait for the Rebels to run out of fuel or eventually be overtaken?

(I know, I know, the movie would be over in 20 minutes...)

Much like TFA = ANH mentioned above, TLJ has similar themes to The Empire Strikes Back: Rebels pursued by Evil Overlords after destroying their superweapon in previous movie; a Jedi-in-training; the beaten Rebels left in a dire cliffhanger...

Sadly, unlike TESB, the most disappointing aspect about TLJ for me was that by movie's end, it left me apathetic, not eager, for a resolution to the storyline: I have absolutely zero interest in finding out what happens next for Rey or Kylo in SW9, or seeing any of that storyline continue further.

If TLJ was the last SW movie ever (which we know it won't be), I would be perfectly fine with that...

• Will probably wait until Solo comes out on DVD to see it.
