Infamous Quests will be at Adventure-X 2012 on 15th - 16th December in London, UK. We'll have a booth set up and you'll be able to play the latest Quest for Infamy demo, ask us any questions and we might even have some awesome merchandise up for grabs too!

Last year we went to the very first Adventure-X, held in a quaint pub house near Oxford on a cold December weekend. It was a good turn out, met a bunch of very talented developers and enthusiastic gamers and saw some great presentations and game previews. The event showed a lot of promise and it's great to know that Adventure X will be returning again this year. It's going to be bigger, better and held in London this time around - and we'll be there too!

Adventure-X is still a new concept and the previous year showed a lot of potential to finally be the convention for adventure gamers alike. Unlike other conventions, Adventure X doesn't have the backing of sponsors, big publishers or some kind of rich oil tycoon. Just like the recent surge of adventure games, Adventure X needs YOU to make it happen.

A crowd funding page (http://www.indiegogo.com/adventurex2012) has been set up on IndieGoGo and the event is asking for a rather modest $2,200 to fund the event. Once funded, it will be free entry and easy to get to for our UK and European adventure gamers and be an exciting opportunity to meet other adventure gamers and developers alike.

And it's not just Quest for Infamy that will be in attendance, you'll also be able to meet Dave Gilbert from Wadjet Eye Games, the team that developed the fantastic Resonance and Gemini Rue and also see the latest from Heroine's Quest by Crystal Shard (developers of A Tale of Two Kingdoms). There are still plenty of guests yet to be confirmed so keep checking the page for updates of who will be in attendance.

So if you love adventure games, you're free and able to get to London on the 15th and 16th December then drop by and check it out. And if you're feeling very generous, please pledge and make Adventure-X the adventure gaming convention we've always hoped for. Let's make this happen!

Check out the Adventure X page on IndieGoGo (http://www.indiegogo.com/adventurex2012) for more information and to pledge. Don't forget to like them on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/adventurexpo) too!

This is fantastic, and I really wish that I could attend.

I wish them luck on securing funding, and I wish everyone luck at the actual convention!

Considering that this is at London, I might just attend that. Sure London is dead expensive to stay and eat, but I might just go down for just the Saturday. Would be really cool to meet all you guys in person.

Though if I do go, no doubt I would spend all my time bugging you all with questions

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, it won't be all of us. I'm the only confirmed person right now but hopefully we'll get more of the team there. Shall update you!

Broomie, to be able to shake your hand will still be an honour

Well that settles it, I will be looking over my funding situation and see if I can get the full weekend. Will deff turn up for one day though, at least.

Hi there, just to let you know that I will also be at AdventureX this weekend.  I was there last year too, so perhaps broomie will recognise me :P See you there :)

That's awesome Matt, look forward to it. :) Yep, it's this weekend so do check this website  (http://www.screen7.co.uk/adventurex/) for more details. We should be getting there about 12ish on the Saturday and bit earlier on the Sunday. We'll have a booth, there will be some merch to win and give out and you'll get a chance to play the new QFI demo before it's released. And on Sunday, I'll be talking about the history of QFI, going 10 years back when it was a highly ambitious fangame so be good for you to join us. Remember, it's a free event so all you have to do is arrange your journey.

Matthew Oates will also be there, known as Doomrat on the forums. He's one of our artists and designed the new QFI logo too.

So if you're able to make it to London on the 15th and 16th then that would be sweet. We'll have a beer afterwards too.

I'm really annoyed that I missed it. But work has this policy where no one can have holidays in December due to the busy-ness

I'll let Broomie chime in when he gets a chance - but from what he told me, it was great - good fun, good people, great reception to Quest For Infamy.

He also says Dave Gilbert, from WadjetEye Games, is the nicest dude, ever.

Always wondered that, I'm a huge fan of Dave Gilbert...he definitely seems like a good guy.

Hey guys, sorry I've been so busy over the holidays. Will do a recap of the event soon but yes, it went very well and Dave Gilbert is a very cool guy. Here we are enjoying a few beverages at the Dirty Dicks pub in Liverpool St. Will post more photos and stories soon.

And for the record, great feedback for Quest for Infamy. You'll love the new demo!

Totally forgot to reply to this.  I had such a great time this year.  Meeting the gang from last year again  as well as Doomrat (two Matt's :O) was good and seeing the response to the demo was excellent.  The venue was pretty sweet this year and the turnout a lot larger.  All in all a good show.  Hopefully it will only get bigger!  The only downside was getting a sore throat on the sunday night resulting in my being in bed for most of the following week!

Sadly I neglected to take any photos but I believe there are many floating around on the world wide web.  I could probably get a link or two to a few albums if you wish.

Does anyone know if all, or part, of the Adventure-X live-stream was preserved?  It would be really great to be able to view, and review, the talks at least.  I've watched several streams from the GDC vault, and don't see any reason why Adventure-X talks are less deserving.

Of course, the problem there is funding for bandwidth and storage of the large video media files (as we saw with the crowd-funding of the event itself... just barely made it!), but perhaps that could be supplemented by selling (home-made?) DVDs, access to the streaming, and/or DRM-free downloads of the video files.

Anyway, assuming there is nothing, I look forward to the stories and photographs!

Yes much of Adventure-X was filmed and is being turned into a mini documentary with talks, interviews and footage of booths etc.

I don't know about the streams tho, I didn't even know if my talk was streamed but it was filmed which I'm awaiting the footage for.

And I've got some free time today so may have some time to come up with my report and some more photos.

In the meantime, read Nick Wheeler's take on Adventure X. (http://www.thereticule.com/adventure-x-2012)

That's fantastic news!  I kind of suspected that the the livestream would be lost, but nothing on the screen7 site mentioned documentary filmography.  So, I just assumed it was lost and unrecorded.  I caught about 10 minutes of it once, and had no idea what was being talked about or who the speaker was... and then I had to stop.   :(

I'd love to have a chance to watch that mini-doc, though.   8)
