If you already scare off the owl and take the feather, you can still burn the tree.

It'll cause another feather to appear (despite there being no owl animation) a reference to the owl as if you had set it on fire.

I enjoyed the reference to One Piece when you click on the tree after it's been burned though. ;)  I also caught the DB one too. :)

In addition, you end up with two feathers in your inventory so a feather remains even after you give it to Prospero.
