I didn't know telltale lost the rights, they DO have a lot in the pipe right now though. Really wish they'd do Season 2 of Monkey Island.

Found this thread discussing it. Pretty interesting.

The last post on the VGA version is from February 2012 which is a bad sign. You can definitely see some talent in that project.

Oh for sure, I had thought that before you pulled it up and then realized who I was watching.

Just saw Lamb's sketch video. Love that he pops up that picture from Raiders for reference about midway through.

I prefer the first links art style to the 3d remake attempt. I'd love to play the series through with cohesive remakes. The other one just doesn't seem to fit. Imagine if AGDI made QFG2 in the style of QFG5 instead of VGA like they did. Playing through the series would be so weird.

Does anyone else find the price tag a little excessive? QFI opens for preorders at $15 and it's a brand new game and IP. Replay is charging $20 for a remake of a game we've already played.

Every King's, Police, Hero and Space Quest game is available for 24.98 at our pals GOG. This is a one day bundle sale so scoop it while it's hot. Also includes SWAT 1&2

25 games for 25 bucks, already own some? take them out and the price goes down (you do have to buy the complete pack minus what you've got though)

Hey someone important! Link me a GOG banner in this thread and then click the hell out of it.

I Have the Wii U, I might get a ps4 but judging on the 15 (count em) versions of the PS3 they released I'm going to wait atleast a year to see what they keep and what they strip out of the new one. In the mean time I've played Mario Kart 8 and it was fantastic.

While some games can be run by copying and pasting the Executable directly onto the dosbox folder this is not reccomended as it often cuts off the pathways to other resources used in the game. Instead mount the drive as described or paste the entirety of the folder your game resides in. This is not reccomended for games where saving is important or importing is common such as Quest for Glory.

I thought it was true in the US that if you owned them you could download them as part of "backup" and that's how they were allowed in the first place. I know that's the rule in Canada at least, but we also allow drinking at 19. In anycase it's not particularly hard to find what you're looking for. Sorry to IQ for not using enough tact.

I haven't read the comic of "Electric Sheep?" but I'll pick it up based on your recommendation!

I also know this is cliched, but it IS really good - I just re-read "Watchmen" recently, and damn, that was a great series.

Bt

My first exposure to Watchmen was the movie and it just rubbed me the wrong way somehow. Lady loves the book though, she even wears a Silk Spectre T-shirt around.

That's really cool news for all you Mac users, thanks QFGFan!

that's not to say it doesn't also work for the PC but you have to DOSbox em yourself in most cases.

I've been reading A Game of Thrones and it's a great little companion piece to the show. the advice I seem to get from most readers is to watch and then read it. The show is extremely close to the books, though getting further all the time. You can watch the show and absorb it at face value and when you read it you get into the minds of all the characters and the motivations become so much more clear. They also have room to delve into their enormous backstories in a way that the show doesn't really allow for.

Other than that though I've recently gotten into novels that are very graphic. No not like American Psycho but literally graphic novels. There's so much cool stuff going on over at Marvel these days it's a new age. I sat down and read the entirety of Ultimate Spider-man (Still going) and it's so cool how all 4 of the Spider-man movies have borrowed or referenced from it. It also ties in nicely to the Ultimate X-men books.

If costumes and nobles aren't your bag I highly reccomend Brian K. Vaughn's Y: The Last Man. it's a 60 issue series about a plague that kills every male of every species on earth simultaneously except one man and his pet monkey. It can get a bit "Lost" at times with it's multiple mysteries but it's hugely evocative and funny and just plain fun to read.

Bt, if you like Dick in the eyes, as in reading the works of Phillip K. Dick, you should pick up a copy of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" It's one of the best done comics I've ever seen. It has the entire text of the novel in it as well and in my opinion is better than Blade Runner.

I found dreamfall to be wordier than GK but that's just me. I recently tried playing Sam and Max hit the road. Is it just me or was that game particularly difficult?

Hey there Quest For GLory Fan (or anyone who knows)!  May I ask, how did you get ahold of the old Sam & Max game?  If it's not on GoG then I'm pretty much crap outta luck getting those really old games to work on my computer (even with SCUMM or DosBox, etc...)  But I was just curious if there was a way (or place) to play or download it that I wasn't thinking of...

Sam & Max is one of the FEW old classic adventure games that I never got around to playing and I'd LOVE to be able to try it out!

~Sarah

I had a copy of the Lucas Arts Archives for most of my old games but i prefer to do a lot of my pointing and my clicking on the mac these days. I found a really cool way to do it too. KLYTOS IS GREAT Anyways if one were to type in BUY QUEST FOR INFAMY TWICE, they'd see some scoundrel has actually wine wrapped a TON (and I mean atleast 200) 90s games of all genres from Day of the Tentacle to Simcity2000 to work on OSX. There's more LA than Sierra in there which is great because GoG is mostly sierra and not so much Lucas Arts.
