So I ran my second playthrough as a thief going out of my way to do anything and everything I could, taking my time exploring the game, looking for eggs and glitches... (this included running the game minimized when I wasn't playing and running multiple instances of the game simultaneously.)
I was very impressed by how stable the game was, given the conditions I ran it under I would give the game an overall AAA rating in stability. I experienced ONLY A SINGLE crash, after leaving the game running overnight, closing my laptop, opening it back up (forcing a windows password request) then going directly to the kraken. As he approached I saw bubbles in the water, then the game stalled out right before he emerged from the water.
As you can imagine this style of play caused a lot more stress on the game and I was able to find a decent number of glitches and bugs. Most of these I posted already, but for whatever reason as I continued the game in this matter the layering seemed to glitch out more and more and Rohem seemed to walk on top of buildings and other textures he was supposed to walk behind (especially on the tobacco/general goods shop page).
So here is a recap of the bugs I found (Minus the ones I posted before)
Well everything else has been mentioned and discussed elsewhere in the Tech Support pages.
Not sure if it's an egg or a glitch... Feel free to delete this post, or leave it as a hint... or better yet leave it, like it, and let us all guess...
When I look at him it doesn't register, but if I try to fight him or give him something it gives me standard generic person responses...
Reading through my recap I realized how negative it sounded.... I'm sorry about that, you know how it goes. We wouldn't be on these forums if we weren't already your biggest supporters haha, so it seems like all the good things go without saying. That said I know that it can be more important to hear the good than the bad at times, so here goes.
The entire game was so good that I couldn't even begin to make a note of each and every part that amazed, inspired, excited or just made me laugh. None the less I will give it a try .
First off I love the way you guys dealt with classes, making it something that you have to interact with and having a mentor, genius!
The dialogue is so witty that I find myself constantly laughing or giving a good guffaw (sometimes while surrounded by people as I wear headphones while traveling)
Bringing back old school style is more than just graphics, and you guys see this. Given your budget and situation you never disappointed me, you brought a focus on a well thought out story line full of interesting imaginative and insightful characters that the gaming world has been missing. Your emphasis on the game as a means to move the story forward, rather than the story as a means to move the game forward, is one of the first steps in the right direction that I have seen in gaming in a long time.
What most impressed me, and what I didn't expect, is the way that you did what games have been promising and failing to deliver on for decades, you brought coherent realistic and tangible moral ambiguity to a video game. By making the hero gain infamy (which helps in game play) by being ruthless cunning or ballsy AKA infamous, but at the same time killing the hero if he does anything outright stupid you are forced to run a gauntlet between becoming feared and making friends. The way you play the grey line on morality, and veer away from the current standard of black and white is like an oasis in the desert that has become gaming.
Thank you once again, I look forward to my next 20 playthroughs haha
First of all I would like to say the game is wonderful! I loved every moment of it! I can't say how awesome you guys are for making this game!
I was a huge fan of the QFG games and have literally been replaying it every few years for the last 20 years... So you can say I have been waiting to play this game for at least this long.
On this first playthrough I was playing as a sorcerer and was attempting not to use any help, I also tried to play as evil as I could, since it is a quest for infamy after all...
Unfortunately I didn't accomplish that much outside of the main story line, not even doing the sorcerer fight the necromancer quest and despite doing all the evil I could my infamy was a mere 180 ish.
Any way, I took some notes for the team and I found a number of issues(minor bugs), difficulties(areas lacking logic) and comments(helpful ideas to improve):
Issues:these easily qualify as minor bugs and glitches. Difficulties:These are areas where I had undue difficulty and feel are illogical. Most of these forced me to seek help outside the game. If I missed in game clues please let me know, I hate absolutelyillogical solutions.
Comment: These are areas where the game that, well, disappointed me. While originally I made a whole section for this after finishing the game I only had one. Any way, all that said it was an amazing game. I will start my next playthrough tomorrow morning I am sure (if not tonight haha). Thank you guys so much for all your hard work!
