IQ Chat / Re: Quest for Infamy review

Can't help you with gamefaqs, sorry.
But you could start with steam & gog, metacritic reviews. There are only 10, 11, 1 user reviews at the moment. Or you could do a video review for youtube.

Quest for Infamy / Re: Narration not matching description of item
« on: July 12, 2014, 04:26:16 AM »
(Spoiler)
-I found a diary, probably belongs to one of the Hummels.
The description reads: It's the old diary you removed from the chimney.
But the narrator says "There's no door there to open, just walk on through."
(edit: Oh, now the description has changed. Looks like a quest item. It has spoilers.)

-There's a part where our protagonist pops through the tree.

-Is this a typo? Swart refers to his donkey as 'she', 'my girl' but when I talk to the donkey
the narrator says "Although 'he' is reticent to admit it, you are the superior being in this argument."

-I just arrived at the fountain plaza of Tyr. The bald man and the woman in the background stopped moving. Not sure what triggered this, I was talking with the councillors.
Everybody else/the water is moving as normal. I tried save-loading but they are still frozen.

Cheers! I was confused about the sundial.
After Day 1 everything is working as it should. The sundial looks normal and I'm getting achievements (except clock watcher).

Btw there seems to be a typo with Ian.
couple of idea -> couple of ideas

Quest for Infamy / 2 people in the background stopped moving

Hi Infamous,

I saw the pop-up for the 'clock watcher' achievement but it doesn't appear on steam.
Also tried loading right before the execution but now I don't get a pop-up at all.

Can you help me out?
-------------------------
Another question. I've been walking around town and I noticed the sundial changing position back and forth.
Is this normal? It's Day 1,
I'm moving from the 1st -> 4th picture. Left to right.

Hi Infamous,

Do you plan to add steam trading cards? I'd love to have Jenny's artwork on my steam profile.

They should postpone all the summer sales until fall.

Congrats :D

Big step forward. I imagine this will significantly lessen the burden for exposure.

Yeah, Fran Bow looks really interesting.  Almost like a bit of Edward Goery come to life - I have to be honest, it's really not my taste, but the creators have made something special here.  It made it's goal, and it continues to go on, so that's super awesome!

I usually stay away from gore unless it's a B-horror movie  ;D
But like you said this is something special. The game is based on Natalia's painful childhood and from what I read  creating the game has been a therapeutic experience. So it seems to be much more than a 'horror' game.

@Intendant S
I decided to back Fran Bow hehe

Fran Bow

A horror adventure game made by 2 people(Natalia & Isak). The demo is quite impressive.

@Shawn
"show you the ideas" thing, oh I'm relieved. I can't wait to hear the new voices.
And if you like the classic resolution, that's fine.

@Jen
I think everybody will fall in love with your portraits.

@Bt
Somebody recognizes my name :D
I wanted to talk more about your writing and why I like it but I didn't know where to start.
So I kept is short (I'm no writer after all)

And cheers! Intendant and asianmusicguy  :)

Quest for Infamy / Demo impressions

Hi Infamous Quests,

I just came by to add my 2 cents on this good game.

The voice acting:
You took me by surprise. Your actors are wonderful.
Personally I think this is the best collective performance I've ever seen in a game.
I don't know how you did it, maybe you kidnapped all the good voice actors?
Nevermind...

One quibble: quality of recording is inconsistent.

Portraits:
Top notch, looks like the cover art from a famous comic book. Initially I thought it's 'too' flamboyant but over time my opinion has changed. It's full of life & spark and does a great job, spicing up the characters.

The art:
The amount of detail put in the general store was a pleasure to look at!
It reminded me of my youth, playing adventure games.
(Stop at a shop and read the description of 'every' single mysterious object on display. IRL the owner would be annoyed with a guy just standing still, :o gaping at his goods  ;D)
I liked the fishermen's cottage and the Inn looked so pleasant. Did you get an artist who worked at Sierra? This is a genuine question.

That said, I wish the game had a slightly higher resolution. It would benefit the artists too.

The GUI:
I admit this is the least important. But I wish it looked better. A bit of polish perhaps. Not expecting it to be as cool as Gabriel Knight I.

Direction:
I have trouble navigating myself through town. I often find myself asking 'Is that a way?', 'Is there a way?'
For some reason the wilderness is less confusing.

The writing:
Wow. Where have you been? Finally a talented writer taking care of adult gamers, you're a breeze of fresh air!

Roehm:
I like this guy, may he offend many many people throughout his adventure.

So... that's it.
I hope this game will be the beginning of a long and exciting journey.
