Updating computer codecs

How do you update computer codecs?

I don't know quite what it's called just that it's all the stuff which enables you to watch movies, tv shows, etc. on your computer without any issue and that it periodically needs to be updated.

ok well
haha semantics here

1. there is no such thing as a computer codec

there are audio  and video codecs..

and not sure what you need

most just use VLC to play movies
and thats ALL you need no codec pack

now if you want to edit video and audio you capture on cams or such, or rip stuff, in special formats, well yea lame and such, but dont go installing codecs just to watch movies..
VLC.. answer to all your problems.. or windows classic but i prefer vlc ..

nothing needs updated

sometims xvid codecs do, but thats when you burn stuff
not when u use vlc.. u just update vlc,. it has its own codecs which it.. updates.. you never have to

i hate codec packs unless im doing video/audio editing and even then most come with the software you use.. some dont.. but rare..

shrug
hope that helps
and hope you didnt get klite and mess your machine up yet..

lol
