Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Odd Gentlemen's "King's Quest" teaser

Well, Kosh atleast tries to get different versions of the same game. But then I've seen people who get like 10-20 copies of the same game and all are identical. :/

I'm so sorry to hear that Kal! :(
The only thing I can suggest is for you to spend time with your daughter, do something together. Maybe go on a long overdue trip?

@Kaldire
Don't worry mate, we all have our own view on the matter that can be different from other views.

(maybe not here but) As I've said it before, you can't compare QFI and Hero-U to the original QFG. QFI wins this fight without a doubt, but that's because Hero-U isn't completed yet. We can do the whole "which one is more like QFG" topic later when Hero-U comes out too. What can be said though is, that Infamous Quests had its' vision planned and they knew what they wanted to do AND knew that the fans would also love it. As for Hero-U (and this is my own opinion), I get the feeling that they weren't quite sure what they wanted to do. If you know what they originally planned with Hero-U, you'd know that it's completely different from what it is right now and what the fans were hoping for back then. That caused a sort of a "development-hell" in the very early stages of the game creation. They had to change their planned vision and recreate the whole thing. I won't go into more in-depth details because you can read more about the various changes made from the start of Kickstarter to now from Hero-U.net yourself.

And yes, as Klytos said it and as the Coles themselves said it, Hero-U will be more of an RPG than an adventure game compared to QFG that was the opposite. I think if anyone was expecting a classic QFG from Hero-U, they were stuck in an Erana's dream (the good ones at the start before they got bad).

There, I think this should take some of that "bashing" off of you Kaldire. :P

IQ Chat / Re: Any plans on a sequel? And any new patches?
« on: November 13, 2014, 01:13:53 AM »
@Klytos Well, I didn't really mean adventure games because most if not all of them tend to be cheaper. I usually buy my games, but then there are those big triple-A titles that barely lower their price, so that's when me sealegs become active and I plunder the booty forcefully.

I'd like to touch the piracy topic just a little bit.

I'm perfectly fine with the model of Quest for Infamy. You get to play a demo and then decide whether you want to buy it or not.

However, this type of a structure is very rare these days, now instead of demos we get "Preorder now for 5% discount and a hat!", but you won't get to TRY OUT the game itself. That's why, mainly with big costly titles, if I'm not too certain about the game, I prefer to pirate it first and see if I like it. If I do, then I'll actually buy it too.

Say what you will, but I'm not the person who can afford to spend 40-60 bucks here and there all the time as if it were pennies, so I'm glad that as a PC gamer, I have the option to try a potentially interesting game if I'm not given the chance.

@Chadly

Ahh, you seem to have misspelled my name there, but you can very well see from my profile page that I'm from Mordavia. :D
But in all seriousness, it's Estonia.

The Soviets lost 20 million men fighting the Germans vs the US at 400000.

Well that's an easy thing to answer. The Soviets didn't give a damn about casualties, many people lost their lives by being naught but cannon fodder (it was probably like that for many countries, but especially for the soviets).

All joking aside their is much to be learned from history and those who don't study it are forced to repeat it.
The USA has many faults but many great things about it as well.....Nuff said.

Yep. *cough* Few years back *cough* a certain financial crisis. *cough*
(Throws oil into fire) xD

Ouch. I get it that I'm surrounded mostly by americans, but daaaamn, quite a lot of unnecessary shit towards EU and our systems. :/

If WE as Americans didn't save the world twice in the last Century we would be speaking German, the jews would be erased from the planet, and freedom would have died forever.

That's a pretty ballsy statement to take, considering my country and many many more countries in Eastern Europe were forced to be under the Iron Grip of Russia for more than 50 years with their shitty Soviet Union.  >:( So to be correct***, you helped* save the western europe. And I think I, for one, am a good example that it's utter BS what you say about that "we would be speaking German", only sentence I can say in russian is "Sorry, but I don't speak russian." and yeah, my parents who actually lived in the Soviet Union can speak russian fairly fluently, but it's still their secondary (or even third) language, estonian and english are the primary ones.

I understand that my response may be the cause of some flame here, but even if I am alone, I can't just stand by silently.

@Klytos Finally, yes! :D

@Kaldire They don't really pick which sites/forums to spam in. They just target any webpage that they can with this kind of stuff.

@sickfiction

Ye I know, I ususally don't respond to that kind of stuff, but idk... I guess since I read it I felt the urge to reply. I'm fairly sure of the answer, but can you guys also delete topics or only lock them?

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: What is your favorite rpg series?
« on: October 19, 2014, 04:58:18 AM »
In one of the newer interviews (somewhere during the last years), when Corey Cole talked about Hero-U and what path it will be taking, he brought out, and I quote, that Quest for Glory was 60% adventure game & 40% rpg, while Hero-U will be 40% adventure game and 60% rpg. So based on that, I'm gonna pick QFG series as my favorite uh... 40% rpg? :D

Hmmh well, I really prefer natural pirate games, I've seen a bit of SPAZ and it looks interesting, but I'm just not too keen on that space theme. If there's some genre that I'm really picky and careful on, it's the space themed ones (or just sci-fi). I've heard that Risen is pretty mediocre and not that special. Although I just said I like natural pirate games, I always love kart games, so I'll have to check out Pirate Kart and plundered hearts (whatever that is :D).

I don't have any consoles besides a psp which has been lost to the depths of my home ( I think) and frankly I prefer keyboard+mouse. I guess I'll have to google those other games that you mentioned, maybe some of them will be to my liking. :D But at the moment, I'm placing my bets on Sid Meier's Pirates.

Thanks for the replies! I appreciate your concern Kaldire, but no thanks, I'll face the risks. :P
And yes, how many people have died from playing WoW for 7 days straight (in this case WoW doesn't even matter that much, being awake for 7 days straight doing whatever is a 1-way ticket to a very messed up health or, like in this one case, death)? I simply want to play MMOs for fun and I think LOTRO is a pretty good example. Sure, you can buy loads of items from the micro-transactions shop, but there isn't anything like actual beastly gear and it's mostly just cosmetic pieces of gear + temporary boost-potions which aren't that awful for an MMO. DDO is a good idea, I tried for a short while but stopped because my friends stopped playing also. I guess that's the biggest issue that I have with these MMOs, I can try them, but if I don't find a group of people to play with, I get bored and move on. I will return to WoW at some point, I myself joined it during WOTLK and have played through the last 3 expansions. I heard WoD is taking away flying ability in many zones so I'm excited about that. It really adds a whole new level of mystery if you can't reach all those locations that are up the mountains and such. Buuuut I'm getting carried away, anywho, mI'll probably try some of these MMOs. And one last thing, has anyone here played The Realm Online? It looks something like KQVII but it's also an MMO and it used to be quite popular years back, at the moment there are less than 50 players playing (but hey, atleast it's still up and running! :D). Alright, once again, carried away. I'll stop.............. now.
