Quest for Infamy / Getting our infamy-on...
« on: July 19, 2013, 03:21:30 PM »
So any news on the release date?

I'm hoping to rob nearly every house/business in town, and that the characters are all incredibly reactive to events. (like in QFG 4's town)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / This game sounded really interesting...

A shame it seems to have been cancelled.

But, when controversy comes up (like "Battle of Fallujah") usually that's what happens.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / The death of Sierra and aventure gaming...

I've heard/read vague bits about why Sierra and adventure games died and I just gotta know...

Why did it happen exactly?

Quest for Infamy / Dating mechanics
« on: February 27, 2013, 09:00:28 PM »
Is this game going to be like QFG5?  Between the barmaiden (prominent in artwork) and the French maid, it seems like Roehm may have more than a few opportunities at romance.

I just hope it's like Dragon Age 1 where characters respond and are aware of your romances, and get angry and force you to decide if you try to date multiple characters at once. (or at least if you get caught)  I remember finishing up QFG 5 as a bigamist with Elsa and Nadir and nobody seemed to mind or acknowledge that!  ;D

Quest for Infamy / How evil is too evil?
« on: February 25, 2013, 08:12:55 PM »
So is there anything that would be considered too evil to show or portray in a game like this?  Should there be "no limit" to telling a dark story, or should there be some boundaries?

Quest for Infamy / Rogues in combat
« on: February 21, 2013, 11:02:30 PM »
Are rogues in combat going to have any special abilities or just be slightly-gimped fighters like in QFG?  I assume brigands will be the "pure" fighters and, of course, mages will have their spells to use.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Top quest for glory message board
« on: February 17, 2013, 12:43:04 PM »
Does anyone know where the top QFG message board is or what it's called?  I saw one a long time ago (that I think even the Coles posted at) but I forgot the link.

Quest for Infamy / The Coles and QFI

Have the Coles commented on QFI and said anything regarding the game?

Has anyone from the team or board reached out to them to get their thoughts?

Quest for Infamy / Favorite QFG game
« on: February 16, 2013, 12:44:48 AM »
So what's your favorite QFG game?

It's hard to choose but right now I lean towards QFG2 VGA.  I enjoy the pop humor, graphics and story, and the great combat system.  The "building up skill" aspect is fun too, as is trying to unlock Paladin.  I also like having an excuse to spend all the excess money that inevitably builds in games like these.

The only thing I dislike is how linear it is. (the game -will- end at a specific time, it's up to you to survive until then)  Aside from that, it is fun.

I also appreciate that it has "the ghoul" an enemy that can still kick your ass with end-game stats (with maxed combat difficulty) unless you use tricks (acid-proof boots, reversal spell) or are really good at the arcade.  Even when all the other enemies get wimpy, the ghoul can still whoop you like crazy!

Quest for Infamy / Getting rid of Rayford- speculations?
« on: February 11, 2013, 09:11:33 PM »
Rayford is a bastard because.... well, we don't quite know yet from the demos, but the executed guy seems to hint he is as does using the sword icon on his house.

You can't just kill him without a small army of guards hunting you down so, how shall he be finished?

1. BRIGANDS- They straight-up kill the bastard while he's relatively unguarded traveling in a distant land in a way that keeps suspicion off them, then threaten/blackmail his successor who is either a brigand or a yes-man puppet.  Kurdt marries his unhappy wife/daughter who is surprisingly fond of him.  Brigands take control of the guards and enjoy a nice extortion racket in exchange for keeping the peace.

2. THIEVES- Rayford is framed for a massive crime-wave.  Evidence is found leaking him to the crime wave, and the robbery of his house is viewed as being forged by him as a cover.  Thieves bribe the successor and bring crime to a balance in the land.

3. WIZARD- Being a badass wizard pimp, and Rayford harassing him, Prospero cooks up a spell of craziness to be used on Rayford.  Rayford goes on a mad rampage, and is later put to death.  Rayford's skull is later turned into a familiar, or his corpse becomes a mindless zombie used for simple tasks.

4. ??? Rayford is framed and sent to prison, where he is raped to death by an ogre.
