Title: Changing background...
Post by: Goatmeal on March 13, 2013, 09:49:18 PM
It took me this long to finally realize today that...

...when you visit the forum page, the background changes and mirrors what time it is -- the blue screen during the day, the redish-orange while visiting in early evening, and the black night screen at night.

Pretty cool.  I assume it's dependent on your computer's local time setting?  What are the times that the backgrounds change?

Yes!  That background will change from night to dawn to day to dusk, depending on your local time.  I don't know when the exact hours it does occur, though.

Also just noticed the "early morning" background, too!

Thanks! I was just experimenting with it at first and thought it was kinda cheesy but after seeing Jerm's backgrounds I had to showcase them all. It's on the main website too.

The times are as followed:

9pm to 6am - Night-time
6am-11am - Dusk/morning
11am-6pm - Day-time
6pm-9pm - Dawn/evening

shouldn't it be Dawn/morning and Dusk/evening rather than the other way around?

Oops my mistake, though only in that post it's always been configured correctly. I posted that on my iPhone so didn't really check it. Good catch though.

your welcome, I'm not just a punny guy I'm observant too.

Tis a neat trick with the forums as well.

I vaguely remember seeing somewhere else that had sun and moon or stars as well the only other time I remember seeing it
