You can't get into the barracks through the front door.

For that interior room, you just need an arrow in the right direction, at night.

For the garden--you may need to talk to someone first--I don't remember how Blackthorne set that one up.  It is indeed a place that needs to be floated to, though it used to be accessible by other means.

I'd love to have something like that, too!  ;)

There actually are a few bits and pieces of QFI merchandise around, but you have to hunt to find them.  I bought some postcards that Steve had made with some QFI backgrounds on them; it was more or less something he had submitted to a printing website as a test, but didn't realize that they actually were available on that website's store.  I don't remember what site it was though.  Steve might be able to tell you.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: The Hobbit Rant (SPOILERS!)
« on: December 29, 2014, 08:31:23 PM »
People take this shit way too seriously.  As an adult, I would not want to watch a simplified, child-oriented version of the Hobbit--the old cartoon bores me to tears.  So, if they can amp up the sex, violence, and darkness for a more adult audience, I'm all for it.  I'd also be okay if they swapped the elves for children of the forest, the dwarves for wildlings, and changed the name of Middle Earth to Westeros.  Also, more boobs, please.

I knitted myself a sweater out of all the shaved pubes that have accumulated since the end of our Kickstarter.

RPG Codex's thread on the new KQ is a hilarious read.

http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/new-kings-quest-game-by-the-odd-gentlemen-aka-sierra-reloaded-massive-decline-everything-is-shit.95074/page-6

Also, they explicitly made a point of moving it out of their Adventure Gaming subforum and into their General Gaming forum after the reveal trailer dropped.  hahaha

Heh...I know; we did the same thing in QFI.

I went on several no-holds-barred rants about it last night in various forums.  I feel a little like a college girl who wakes up in an unfamiliar bedroom after a night of wild partying.

I'm guessing we'll see very little actual gameplay in the coming year before release.  This project is about one thing: Activision cashing in on the Sierra name.  This is a cash grab looking to dupe the more dimwitted of King's Quest fans into a quick sale based on the name and nostalgia.  The game is likely much more geared towards the audience that made games like The Cave and Brothers successful (neither of which are adventure games.)  Mark my words: they're going to be as vague as possible about the gameplay so as not to turn away potential customers.  They're going to push this as a "new age" adventure game, even though it's clearly not, and idiot fans are going to lap it up like Christmas gravy.
