Honestly can't wait to throw my money at you guys.  A few more weeks of waiting just means I can budget it better. :D

Well, it's Bad2DaBone's idea, I'm just trying to help with it.

Also, because of a backup, due to instability of the actual admin.

Most of the stuff I'd personally want to keep is in the fanfiction part.  Any other stuff is discussions that would be nice to read through for nostalgia sake, but other than reminiscing on past fun, serve no purpose.

Yeah, I downloaded it, it that seems more for those who either have a corrupted backup or FTP access isn't 100% reliable.  You still need cpanel access to use those.  Also looks like basic Python knowledge is required.  Both of which I'm lacking.  Gonna continue looking around *shrugs*

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.  I'm no stranger to coding/webpage BS, but even I'm not up for something like that.  Especially for a forum as massive/old as the one we're looking at.  (Not a hard guess which we're talking about)

Without access to the database nothing is very acceptable short of manual saving of each page of each thread and a lot of fixing after the fact. It is a big part of why the Wayback machine is lousy at capturing message boards. I will admit that it has been a while since I have looked for anything, but I doubt that there has been any big advances, especially with the decline of the popularity of forums.
That's what I thought too.  I was hoping there'd be some sort of 'crawler' to run that saved it, even in TXT format, but no luck finding one.

Yes, but is there a way to do so without access to the cPanel?

All that was just a long winded way of "She don't got issues, she's got a lifetime subscription," and "Why can't we all just get along?"

But yeah, she's not the only volatile person in my life I've had to cut out this year.  Anxiety's not fun to deal with, and getting out some of the sources of it is a glorious feeling.

She's tried contacting me a few times.  The one time was practically saying "It's still your fault, but you're the only one who likes these forums as much as me.  I need somebody to take care of it in case I die."

Not once have I replied.  I'm better off without her volatility in my life.  And that's coming after talking to her at least 5 days out of the week for YEARS.

Agreed.  At the time I played it, I was younger, naive to the world, and not as corrupted as I am now.  Horrible times, to be honest.  I'd probably love the game now if I played it.

Also, apparently my account is now completely deleted over at QFMG.  Control-freak is putting it mildly.  All she truly cares about IS her precious website.  She even tried sending me messages saying she forgave *me* for everything, when all I did was be accused of deleting her as admin. LOL  Two days after she banned me she accused me of this - then posted an activity log from my account, which I couldn't even log into at the time because she changed the password - of me deleting her and all other mods at the forums.  And then me re-promoting her to admin.  How that makes any lick of sense, I don't know.

I just checked that forum for the first time in weeks, and apparently it went a full month of inactivity, except for (even worse than lame) joke threads that she use to bitch about.

I'll leave one quick link for you to chuckle at.  http://www.questformoreglory.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3436 - What the hell kind of response is that?

Oh, also, if any of you are up to it for me, since I can't post there anymore - could you PM Chris724 over there - let them know Elsa's psycho and deleted me.  Questions were asked about me here - > http://www.questformoreglory.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3416&p=49611  (Thanks in advance! :) )

Yeah, I guess you could say I was blinded by having been her friend for so long.  Now that she's gone (even further) off the deep end, I'm starting to notice what everyone else has already known.

I'll probably continue lurking here, like I've been doing at a few of the other forums.  Kind of lost my taste for the whole 'forum atmosphere' after what all went down over at QFMG.

I'm usually not one to resurrect an old thread like this (and I looked, it's not against the rules!), but got to talking with Blake about some of Elsa's shenanigans, and he directed me here.

I'll admit that I did play the game, but when I did, I was probably around 16, and didn't fully appreciate satire comedy at the time due to a Christian upbringing.  I chalk it up to youthful naivety.  Elsa on the other hand, not once touched the game, and completely refused to even click on a link dealing with it.  She shunned it without any knowledge.  (Saw a Nazi reference... I did nazi that coming... but quite fitting *cough*)  So because of this, all discussion was banned from the forums.  Blake found this out the hard way, because there was no post about ANY rules on the forums.  That's how tight of a ship Elsa runs.  LOL

Anywho, I do plan on one day trying the game out again - probably will enjoy it a lot more than I did back then.  I remember something about a vampire side-quest, and the ever so red-herring of the dreaded Log that sticks out like a sore thumb in QFG1.

(Also, YAY MY FIRST POST!  Hi everyone!)
