If you pledged the $200 for the Sprite level, we could probably have you with your own little applecart - though having the name on the side might not work - you could look at the cart and it would say that, though.

We'll be accepting donations through the beginning of the New Year, so there's still time!  We're willing to work with you on your prize rewards!  Just send me a personal message if you're interested!

BT, I have to say, you rule. That you would do that for antiqueapple as part of his spirte reward, that is just awesome

I think I understand now, but correct me if I'm wrong.  For $200, I can be an apple peddler in this game as a cartoon figure.  If I'm short, fat, and wear glasses---somewhere in this game will be a apple peddler that is short, fat and wears glasses?  Would there be an apple cart?  Would I pay extra to have an apple cart?  How will people realize that the cartoon figure is truly based on me.  Would the apple cart have my real last name on it..for example-Brown's Apples.  Am I expecting too much from the $200?  I would pay extra for cart and name on cart.  LOL (no one would believe me) Thank You

I don't think that is how it works, though I could be wrong. In the demo, you occasionally saw what will be the reward dotting about the village. It would just be a random villager running across the screen and when you clicked on them, I think it was something like "They are too busy to talk to you" (sorry, not played the demo in a while so cannot give the exact quote).  It's just so show that places aren't deserted when you walk around.

So I think that when we design our spirte, I think it will just show up at random points in the game. Whether it will be location specific (i.e. if you want to be a woodcutter, will your spirte just stay in the woods), we will have to see. But I am not a member of the team, so I could be completely wrong.

You got it!  "Lupin the Nude".  We'd pixelize the naughty bits, but sprites are already pixelized!

Bt

Not completely nude though, I want a top hat and a monocle.

Maybe a cane

Right, sombrero and cigar.  Got it.

Bt

Add an evil moustache and you've got a deal :P

The backer sprites will be in the full game - however, when completed, if the backer so wishes, I can share the Sprite with them!

Bt

Oh yes please, I would love to have my Sprite so it can be my new Avatar.

Okay, so I should probably have it made with clothes on, as to not offend the public.  You did say you wanted to wanted around nude in the game, right?  Heh....

I kid, I kid.

Bt

Nothing wrong with being nude :P

Whilst it has made it's target (with thanks to Total Biscuit), I want to promote this little gem.

Maia by Simon Roth.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1438429768/maia

It is basically (to quote the page) Dungeon Keeper meets Dwarf Fortress meets Theme Hospital on a primordial alien world. I have fond memories of playing Dungeon Keeper at my friends house and of playing Theme Hospital (never played Dwarf Fortress) so for there to be a game similar to those that is set in space version just sounds plain awesome.

So if you've got the time, just give it a look. As I've said, it has made it's target, but you might enjoy looking at it

Those sprites look amazing.  I can't wait to see how I look.

Neither can I, just need to decide which of the various D&D characters I have played over the years do I want to immortalise in this game, even if it is only a spirt

BTW, has anyone seen Red Dwarf X?  I don't think it's being aired on PBS here (perhaps video on demand or similar), but I'd love to order the DVD in January if it's awesome...  Why can't we US Americans just pay the UK TV license fee and stream iPlayer and Dave?  I'd take that over signing up for cable, for sure...

We could also argue why can't we have Hulu and other American streaming websites. But then, I think the only reason American's would want BBC iplayer is for Doctor Who, they wouldn't care about anything else. As to answer your question, the new Red Dwarf is fantastic. It is still really funny, the characters get some great character development and it has some fantastic references to the old series.

And pixel-hunt obsessively. The second game is far worse for hiding things from you and requiring nonsense actions to solve some of the puzzles (at least there's a hint system in the first one for some of the weirder things you have to do), but in the first game, they love hiding items you need in plain sight.

Also, if you can, play the CD version with voices. I grew up with the low-quality music from the floppy version, and most of the voices sound little like what I imagined, but Chris Barrie is Simon. That alone makes the voice cast great.

I'm playing one from GOG, which I imagine is the better quality version.

Wait, Chris Barrie? As in Arnold Judas Rimmer (also goes by Smeghead and Goalpost head) Chris Barrie? Wow, that is impressive voice acting, couldn't tell it was him.

This is just a random post to say that I only started this game today. I've known of it for years, but today is the first time I have ever played it and so far, I wonder why I never tried it before. The humour is classic Point and Click adventure style ("When I move my mouse pointer over you, it says wizards") and I look forward to see what puzzles await me.

Just wanted to say that

And now we have publishers basically telling game designers to use Kickstarter to get money for them.

"We were actually contacted by some publishers over the last few months that wanted to use us to do a Kickstarter," CEO Feargus Urquhart wrote on the Project Eternity Kickstarter forum. "I said to them 'So, you want us to do a Kickstarter for [you], using our name, we then get the Kickstarter money to make the game, you then publish the game, but we then don't get to keep the brand we make and we only get a portion of the profits?' They said, 'Yes'."
