Thanks for posting the link!  :)

I think I saw a Paypal link for donations, and I plan on putting a little something in, at the very least.  So much time & effort has obviously gone into it and it looks & sounds really awesome.  I love me a female heroine too (good OR evil).   I can't pronounce the names of any of the characters or locations but that makes it all the more intriguing... :P

The voices are pretty fantastic...I love the two-headed troll.  ;)  This game, after QFI of course, is maybe my most anticipated game to be released.  Top 5 for sure.  If they're doing beta now they must be getting close, right?  Altho a game that large would probably take some time to do testing I'd imagine.

I love this thread.  Well, hell.  I'm pretty sure mine is self-explanatory..."Sarah" for Sarah (first name) and "Liz" for Elizabeth, my middle name.  It's always been my nickname since I was a kid (thanks Mom) even though I'm not really a fan.

Pretty exciting, eh?    ::)

Haha, I wasn't gonna ask that question, but since you did it for me...  ;) It was supposed to be late Q2 right?  Which I'm guessing might be around Aug/Sept?  I figured there would be last minute stuff that'd come up so I was just hopeful for a sometime-in-2013 release.

Oh yeah.  I have big plans for the people in that town...

I get so frustrated when trying to comment on Jen's artwork (or any aspect of this game actually) because I know nothing about how to do it or the mechanics of it, and so I find it hard to sound remotely intelligent.  But it is beautiful, as always.   :)

Woo-hoo, an update!  I can tell you spent a ton of time on it and thank you for that, Bt!  Wow, great job Jason, the forest looks perfect--beautiful & rich-looking with just a touch of creepy.  The mines look wonderfully mysterious too...is that gold I see for the taking??   :P  I don't know who did the other backgrounds but to me they look just flawless.  I can't say enough good stuff about it.

The portraits look awesome of course, as always!  I feel like I'm looking into the eyes of a real person when I see Rynn's face.  He looks so warm and kind-hearted.  O'Burr looks like he has a mean streak.  That crow on his shoulder says it all...

I gotta run, I want to write more but I actually had to kinda skim the update for now.  I can't wait to listen to some of James's music & watch the production videos.  You guys have been working so hard and it really shows.  I really am dumbfounded by the amount of talent you all have--what a great team.  Ecstatic to see the final product & hoping to get other people to buy the game & support all your time & efforts as well!  I'm so proud to be a backer.

Till later, cheers!!
Sarah

Oh yeah.  Loosening the purse strings for this one...

Any LSL reference in a game is a good one!  Never gets old... :D

I kinda know how you're feeling Bt.  On Sunday, for no apparent reason that doctors can figure out, I had a Grand Mal seizure.  (Fell & gashed my head open, all in font of my kids too!  scary shit.)  Point being--I'm not allowed to drive for SIX months, which to me is the same as not having a car!  Lol...I feel your pain buddy...:/

Hope it gets fixed soon...everyone have a great week.

Cheers,
Sarah

Wow, this just keeps getting better and better.  I don't know how you guys keep raising the bar again & again but yet you somehow do.  Evil spirits in the mine mazes, even MORE looting to do...my head is spinning.

Haha Bt...hope today is better and you take a much needed break!  Sounds like you guys are burning the midnight oil over there...I hope you all take a break and can have a great weekend.  Happy Father's Day to all those great, zany Dads out there too.

Cheers!  (we need an emoticon for that IMO)   :D

I thought it was true in the US that if you owned them you could download them as part of "backup" and that's how they were allowed in the first place.

* Please note I am not offering legal advise in any capacity; I am simply theorizing based on my very limited knowledge and understanding about a very complex subject.

Due to the frail nature of the magnetic media, you could make your OWN back-up copy back in the diskette days, but I'm not sure about downloading from a third-party.  The whole point about the back-up was you didn't install it on someone else's computer or in turn sell the back-up to someone else so they avoided buying a copy.  I don't believe someone could distribute or transfer "their" copy to you, which is what piracy amounts to...

I would imagine it's contingent on the fact you can prove you have the original media / documentation in your physical possession, like an original CD-ROM that is scratched-up or a broken original floppy disk that won't read anymore.

Conversely, "It's somewhere in my parent's basement" or "I bought it years ago, but my friend lost it" are probably NOT very good defenses...

Yeah...interestingly enough, I do have almost all of the games I downloaded in my possession...old floppies & CD-ROMs that just won't run on newer systems...I don't even know why I keep them, save for just pure nostalgia purposes.   :P

I totally understand...sorry for being one of the "deviants" to put pirated software links out there.  I guess I (ignorantly) assumed that because I paid money to buy these games, that it was going to the original game creators or companies.  Or maybe I just wanted to believe that.  Definitely my bad, should have been paying more attention.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Books! Reading is fun!
« on: June 05, 2013, 04:51:33 PM »
Oh yeah.  Second favorite leisure activity besides computer gaming is definitely reading.  But lately I've been reading a lot of nursing books for study purposes so when I read for fun I usually like the easy, few-brain-cell-required chick-lit books, lol.  A little embarrassing I guess.  I like biographies and memoirs too.  I'd say one of my favorite authors that I'd like to read more of though is Ken Follett.  I love anything to do with World War II. "Night Over Water" is my favorite book he's written (about the Pan Am Clipper's last flight).

I've never read any of Stephen King's books yet but of course seen many of his movies.  He's pure genius.  Favorite one is "It".  I can only imagine how interesting & insanely crazy the book versions are.
