Quest for Infamy / Re: game freezes trying to move north past treants
« on: July 25, 2014, 05:23:49 PM »
Yeah, I've visited the bank as well and still had that happen to me too, where the game freezes after the Treants "burn" (I'm a rogue also).

I'll try going back to the bank again from an earlier save game and see if it makes any difference...

Without responding to specifics, because Lambo has already done that, I'll say that aside from the bugs in the stats easy / hard are subjective things. We had a lot of testers advise us they found combat way too easy, while others found it way too hard (for example) which makes things like the block function either really useful for some players or really stupidly "easy mode" for others.

I think it's pretty gracious of the game to give you the options of easy vs. more difficult combat.  Especially for adventure fanatics who don't really like "action sequences"...it's a good compromise to be able to get past enemies without so much difficulty.  I, for one, much appreciated it--although without proper armor and/or skills, I still found a lot of the enemies to be pretty dang challenging...maybe that's just me though, I usually try to avoid physical conflict.   :P

Quest for Infamy / Re: I drew a map

THAT is incredible, Arseny.  Great job!!  I love game maps, just had to save this baby to my pics for future reference!

Shows just how HUGE this game really is...

Sigh... why can't games like these sell millions of copies instead of shitty sports and shooting games?  :(

Do you think this would ever work as a PS4/XBOX ONE port?  It'd be pretty awesome and it'd be a great way of introducing all the Halo Kiddies out there to real oldschool gaming. ;)

Just gotta find a way to use the controller as a mouse effectively and it should be fine. :)

Hah, I've been making my stepson play this game with me right now  (not the ones who will repeat the bad words, only the 18 year old...but I AM forcing the younger ones to start playing the King's Quests ;) )...they all WILL grow up to like adventure games, dammit!  They have no say at all!  :P

(Either that or they'll eventually just tell their friends that Mom is "special"...)

IQ Chat / Re: I just beat the game thanks to your tips
« on: July 14, 2014, 12:12:01 AM »
You guys were lucky to have friends who played when you were kids. I didn't meet anyone who did until I went to secondary school (age 11-17), and he used to tell me lies when I asked for help.

He'd lie to you??  What a putz.  I STILL have yet to meet someone in person who feels the passion I do about these types of games.  Even my husband thinks I'm nuts...(but he doesn't know what he's missing, poor guy...)  ;)  Needless to say, I'm grateful to meet people like you guys.

IQ Chat / Re: Quest for Infamy Will Be Released on June 26th 2014

Thanks - I didn't notice they weren't there.  I had links to screenshots in there, but they must have been moved cause the URLs were invalid.  I corrected it, but hot-damn, that dude is touchy about having screenshots in there.  I know they made that rule to prevent "announcement" projects that were really just people saying they had an idea for a game, but for crissakes, we're a game with a publisher.  If you Google "Quest For Infamy" you'll see hundreds of links to screenshots.

Uhh, yeah...he takes his Moderator status VERY seriously... ::)

Quest for Infamy / Re: Upcoming Kickstarter for Art & Hint Book
« on: May 02, 2014, 03:44:35 AM »
Probably an obvious question, but since it's been literally years (decades?) that I've owned an old-school hint decoder book, I gotta ask...just how thorough will the hints be in your book?  Are we talking like vague hints to "point you in the right direction" or more of a straight walk-through from beginning to end?  I know you said it's not coming out until a few months after the game does, but if I can't finish it (I've even had trouble with the beta, despite the "cheat outline" written for us)... I'll simply go nuts, berserk, insane.  I really will.  I might even have to resort to watching a "Let's Play"... :'(

Quest for Infamy / Re: Most epic things Roehm could do?
« on: May 02, 2014, 03:16:54 AM »
I would just be ecstatic if ANYone would sleep with Roehm...I haven't been having too much luck with the ladies so far.  I'd even take Miley if she was hanging around...or maybe if Roehm, say, played the drinking game a little TOO well, he might even perhaps end up mistaking someone ELSE for a lady?

Too controversial??   8)

Wow, I didn't realize there was still so much left to be done...I've said it before, but you all truly amaze the crap outta me.  I have learned so much about what goes into a project of this size, and it's been a huge eye-opener.   Never again will I be that annoying idiot asking, "so when's the game coming out--soon, right??  Is it ready, is it done yet??"   ::)

And I agree with Mr. Shawn (Miss? ;D), that the graphics in this game are the best I've probably EVER seen since the Sierra/Lucasarts days, and it was the first thing that sold me on backing this game--there's just SO much incredible talent that you all have.  Ok, I'm blubbering now, I'm sure you get my point...

Edit:  just an FYI Bt, I don't know how often you check the AGS forum site but I was just looking at your release date announcement on the website and noticed the moderator (Darth) saying you needed to put a couple of in-game screenshots to your earlier post.  If you already saw & remedied that, then just ignore me.  I just didn't want him to lock your post.   :P

Yep yep...I'll be all over that guide book when the Kickstarter happens...

I second that about a walkthrough!  Please, please, pretty please!!  (Does that sound slightly desperate?  Cuz I am!)  I'm playing as a Rogue (always my class of choice) and there are just SO many puzzles and non-linear aspects to such a long game, that I am constantly getting extremely overwhelmed and feel like I'm always missing quests and puzzles.

I may check out the Youtube playthroughs, but I'm still hoping for a good ol' walkthrough at some point because a) I HATE missing out on stuff; and b) I know I will never finish this game or even come close to it without one.

If anyone's planning to attempt a walkthrough I would gladly pay good buckazoids for it!  The game is far too beautiful and intriguing to give up on it.

--The same will go for QFI as well, I'm quite sure of it.
