Quest for Infamy / Re: Marching Towards Infamy!
« on: September 06, 2012, 03:39:18 PM »
A couple of months?  Wouldn't that be November?  Which is a month out from your estimated December release, correct?  At that point, why not push for the actual release and not bother with a demo?  Is there a schedule slip to discuss?  Give us the nitty-gritty... we're your friends.  Best to be transparent with scheduling as early as possible.

Chadly's head may explode  ;D

Ha, that was my first thought too, Chadly will have a comment!  Haha.   :D

Anyway, I'm just glad that the IQ team is still excited to make the game and working diligently on it.  My opinion has always been that you guys should take the time you need to make the game exactly how you want it, and we will wait (because well, do we have another choice?  ;) ) and gladly play it when it's ready and appreciate all your hard work then.

Weird question though--will any of the cameo sprites or in-game portraits be in the future demo (since it's still months away) or is that only for the final release?

P.S.  I don't know how to quote two separate posts in my reply but in regards to BT's last post, I'd love to see you guys do a team update video sometime.  I really enjoyed "Meet Team Infamy", nice to put a face to you guys.  Jeremy's not from Texas is he?  He has that twang we all have...haha  :D

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: The Kickstarter Blues
« on: August 29, 2012, 04:59:17 PM »
Right on.

Like I said, it's being exploited by people who either don't need it, or shouldn't be using it given the nature of their "projects," and people are starting to catch onto that.  And this exploitation is being embraced by the company itself.  By not being stricter about their own rules, Kickstarter is signaling it's own death knell.

See, this is exactly why I don't ever check Kickstarter anymore (unless it is a link that someone has suggested on these boards).  I feel like so many people are becoming a bit greedy & not using it for the "right" reasons now.  Ha, that and because after my pledge to QFI, the husband kinda flipped his lid.  I expected no less from him though because he will never get the passon I have for old-school adventure games.  (We just have to amicably agree to disagree.)  Anyway, although I happily wanted to support the making of this game, I haven't really seen anything else so far on KS that quite caught my fancy the same way since.  And to be honest, a lot of the "goal" amounts are so high that it kinda puts me off...

The first time I ever played an adventure game was when I was about 12 or so...it was at a friend's house and it was LSL 1...I couldn't get into it for the longest time because of the dang questions at the start.  But once I did, I was hooked.  Then we got busted by the parentals & banned.  :)

1st point n' click was KQ5, which my uncle bought for me.  Never been the same since, after that I was irrevocably addicted to adventure games.

IQ Chat / Re: Hello Kickstarter Backers and QFI fans!

It was in the mid 90s outside and over 100 in my house. The hot, stagnant air in the house made it impossible to sleep. All of the businesses near me had lost power, too. I also lost a refrigerator full of food. a disgusting, smelly mess to clean out by flashlight.

Ugh, that's awful!  A few years ago after a major hurricane we had a similar thing with power outage, high heat and humidity, and a family of people staying in my house who couldn't stay in their homes from the flooding.  It was the longest week of my life.  Being 9 months pregnant didn't help.  :o

Anyhoo.  Glad things are back to "normal" for you?  So sorry that happened.

I too went to Prospero's house first--couldn't resist (plus his voice!  Wow.)--but a magic user really isn't my thing.  I'm always the Thief, dunno what that says about me but it's always my favorite.  ;)  Anyway, I did the wizard route first, but like someone else said, I didn't really know I was "choosing" a class at the time.  Of course after that, I saw the pub and immediately had to go there but never got past the Drunk game, so I headed out to help out the Thief instead.  Probably will go that route when the game comes out--I've already got my eye on a few houses in the village to pillage.   ;)
