*bug can't get past treants.

Hi there's a bug with my save file

when i go to the screen where the treants are for the first time, one suddenly burns down without me doing anything..
then trying to walk past them freezes the game.

I was wondering if you could fix the save file for me like I've seen done for someone else in this forum with another similar issue.

I'm preemptively sending an email with my save file in it to info@infamous-quests
like was asked for in the other thread

nah not the gog version.

I got it on desura

maybe it didn't get updated there?
I wish I would have bought the GOG version. they're always more reliable for updates.

so is there an update I can download for this to fix it?

thanks for the help. tried my save games in the new version and they won't load so unfortunately I have to start the game over after all but thanks for the help either way

I might try to dust off my hexing skills from the 80's/90's and try doing a hex comparison between a save file from the first version i had and one from the other to see if i can correct for the differences.. not having a lot of faith in that plan though because i know that i'd have to add or remove lines not just edit existing code and that never likes to work when you go to try and load the game later on even if you get it right
i'll only be able to do that if it's a subtle difference

sort of a puzzle to try to solve anyways

There are some pre-made saves on the forum here; "converting" old saves ended up being a time-consuming process - if you can figure it out by hex-editing, I'll give you free copies of our next games!

oh yea i'm just going to try it out for fun
it'll prob be too time consuming and more complicated than mapping out inventory items and everything i'm used to

I can then hex the game to get my stats and money back to where they were easier than trying to convert the save probably

oh my were you ever right about that. 15 insertions, 22 deletions, and 160 some replacements on two save files from each version at the very beginning on the game. that is soooo not worth the time to convert. thanks again for recommending the save files. one is pretty close to where i'm at anyways

*update if you uninstall and then reinstall the game in desura it updates automatically

no update thing shows up when you right click like in steam.

on this one steam is the newest build  no clue whats taking gog so long

yea best off buying whatever you're looking for somewhere else like steam or gog if it's available but if something is only available on desura it's worth it. now that i know how their updates work it isn't as bad though
