If you'd like to join the beta test for v2.0, let me know and you could be playing it really soon.  Still fixing minor bugs here and there, though.  That's mainly the issue - I don't have enough playtesters and time myself to play it to test.  I need 36 hours in a day, and a better source of revenue, hahah.  But seriously, if you want to play the beta, let me know.

Everything that is enjoyable is "bad for you".

If you don't care about living long, indulge all you want.  If you'd like to live a little longer, practice moderation.  If you'd like to live forever, and spend the last 20 years of your life as a withered, useless husk of a human being whose organs and systems are still going despite their insistence that you cease functions... deny yourself anything indulgent ever and live an incredibly boring life, all while trying to convince yourself that you are somehow better than others.

We don't have the license or rights to make a Stranger Things game, and the owners aren't interested in pursuing a point and click adventure game like ours.

It's not depressing, Chad. I'm approaching 40 in a month here myself, and I look back on my own failures and successes.  Life isn't a perfect, triumphant straight line.  It's full of peaks and valleys, highs and lows... but if you can work through the crap and get somewhere better, then you've done okay.  I'm glad that the silly things we make here are a positive force in your life.  You just helped me check a "win" box in my own life assessment, so thank you! You've always been supportive and it really does mean a lot.  Thank you.

It's nice to see that there are people excited about Roehm to Ruin - though, honestly, it makes me a little nervous.  RtR is a much smaller game than QFI was.  I really like it, and it's fun - it's a great little chapter in the QFI story - but I don't think we'd ever be able to make a game as large as QFI again.  That was just a crazy time - we all had high hopes and lots of ambition.  Our scope has been tempered for sure... I was going through the gigabytes of raw files for QFI, not only the finished assets, but the sketches, ideas, unused stuff... that was a huge production.   I do hope you'll enjoy Roehm to Ruin, though.

thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the game... many of us grew up in the same time, so it's been fun to make the kind of games we loved growing up.

I really feel as if engagement will move back to forums like this.  I think a lot of people tire of the social media construct, especially on facebook.

Hmm. I have no idea why it requires one to to do that.  I don't really use the IQ Facebook Page much any more, either.  Facebook is dying and it's doubly terrible for business or fan pages.  Unless you want to pay for their crappy ads, you get no reach on there.  I use twitter a lot and post a lot of updates there @IQ_Adventures - When Roehm to Ruin is ready to be released, it'll be announced here for sure, with a news/blog post which will cross post on the forums here and on the front page.

Like Klytos said, it's mostly the audience that migrated away from forums, not us.  I like using the forums just fine here, but I also don't have as much time to forum dwell as I did 14 years ago when I really started doing this stuff. Sigh.

Like Kaldire said, Roehm to Ruin is just about done.  We'll be finishing recording the voices and implementing them in the game, a few final rounds of testing and then out into the world to be played by the literal dozens of fans of ours!

You may be able to, yes - the voices are taken out of the build at the moment.

You know, I may just do that.  I hadn't even thought of that, because I use Steam so infrequently these days.  Lemme set that up this week sometime.
