Hey, we're still working on it.  Mostly it needs testing at this point, and we haven't had a lot of available help on that.  I've played it a bunch and corrected a few minor things, but it's pretty close.  It's just tough when you're relying on volunteers.

Yeah, and my free time for chatting on forums isn't in high supply either, these days.  Free time I have, I spend working on the games!! Roehm to Ruin is coming along, as is an update to Space Quest II.  After we release Roehm to Ruin, I can turn my focus back to Order of the Thorne: Fortress of Fire and finish that game up.  Still got a lot of story left to tell.

Yeah, to follow up on that - we've been polishing the rough edges of the game, finishing and tightening puzzles and beats of the game.  We've added some more music and sound effects lately, and recently finished a whole new section.  After this, we'll need to record the games dialogue with voice actors, and then bug-test it.  I don't really have a specific time frame, because we all work on this part time now and it's basically just me and Shawn.  I want to get it out ASAP, though, so we're working as hard as we can!

Kal,

I'm truly sorry; that's such a profound loss, I don't know if I could ever say anything about it that would encompass it.  Wishing you strength in this time, man - my condolences to you and your family.  You take care of yourself, you hear?

Hey Chadly,

I was actually very ill for a while; I had a stint in the hospital, as well.  My kidney transplant was affected and damaged, and I'm still in recovery.  I've been mostly resting and taking it easy while waiting for my condition to improve.  I have a bunch more doctors and nephrologists appointments in the next few months... it's been crazy.

Shawn and I are hoping to return to work on QFI 2.0 and Roehm to Ruin in the next few weeks, and I'm also working towards packing up more items and sending them out.  I'm very tired all the time, and my limited time has become even more limited lately.  If I'm being honest, it's been a very difficult period in my life - but I'm starting to feel better slowly, and I'm getting more optimistic about everything.  When you get as sick as I did, it's easy to lose hope and get down about everything.  Trying to heal both body and mind here now.  Thanks for checking in.  Hopefully we'll get this stuff wrapped up soon, and be able to concentrate on finishing Order of the Thorne next year.

I have more than enough Boxes, DVDs and Books for the backers - I have a basement full of them.  What I don't have at the moment is an abundance of extra time to pack, sort and ship the items.  I usually only have a couple hours on Saturday Mornings to put some things together, and I've been doing so and sending out a few packages at a time right now.  This is just how it is - I'm the only one doing this, and people will get their items, but it's just slow going.

Doing my best, making notes and trying to work my way down a massive list.  In a perfect world, we would have made money on our venture of producing a game, and I could have hired extra help to do this, but, in fact, I'm in debt up to my eyeballs and just trying to do my best here. Such is life - we took a risk and hoped it would work out.  It didn't. I'm working on getting everything out, but - like I said - it's slow.  It'll get there, though.

Yeah, v2.0 Shawn and I are still working on, we just don't have the time like we used to... but we will get it wrapped up.  Some bug fixes, glitch/loophole closes, etc.  Graphical and interface work, etc.  A general update and clean up on a three year old game, heh.

Maybe someday we'll get to do QFI2.  We have the outline and story...

The 1.2 version on Humble doesn't have any major differences between the 1.1.1 on GoG, other than some internal code with achievements being changed.  It's all code based, and nothing anyone'd ever notice in game play.

We're working on a full v2.0, but as we've said - our time is limited these days.  We only have part-time to work on our games, and we've been concentrating on finishing up Roehm to Ruin.  v2.0 comes after that and Fortress of Fire after that.

Being able to buy the great sword is a glitch that comes from stat grinding on day one, a feature we've removed in v2.0.  If you don't have your old sword, you're basically SOL because the game is coded to use the sword you're supposed to have, the basic sword.

I have to be honest, I have no idea what the differences between the itch and steam versions are.  I lost the update log when cleaning up dropbox a while back and I can't track it down right now... I didn't know the .vox file was truncated on itch.  I need to correct that sometime.

The number of archived sources of QFI across different versions of AGS is a pain in the ass, honestly.  The version on Steam is the one I've been playing mostly at home now.  It's gonna be a while before I have enough time to make sure versions are updated properly across all platforms, in addition to finishing up v2.0... I need 36 hours days and enough dexedrine to keep me awake until 2021...

Yeah, the 2.0 beta on there doesn't have much more than the official 1.2 - mostly just some minor bugfixes and behind the scenes stuff players would not notice.

Honestly, I have no friggin idea why we didn't put an Inn in Tyr.  Maybe we were going to?? Hah.

Yeah, nearest neighbor is just a system for scaling that ensures 1:1 pixel enlargement ration, instead of the blurry effect you get with so-called "HQ" filters.  We like our pixels perfect and chunky.

Yeah, I had written a treatment and outline for QFI 2 shortly after QFI's release.  There's a story to be told, but who knows if we'll be able to get to tell it.  QFI was a pretty special, seemingly once in a lifetime thing.  Stars aligned right at one time in life, and we got to make it.  Dunno if that opportunity will come again.

Hey! Not much more to update right now; we've been focusing our efforts on Roehm to Ruin lately, and then after that, Order of the Thorne: Fortress of Fire.  We just don't have the time or the staff to work on lots of things at once any more; this isn't our primary job anymore, sadly! I wish it was. But, little things have been done here and there.  One of the biggest aspects of it is testing the work... and then bigger testing later.  In a game like QFI, changing little things can often have a ripple effect and you find a minor change you made in Act I screws with something in Act III!!  It'll happen, but things are just very very slow around here.
