It would benefit anyone to have a pretty good sneak level for this one. It's not easy staying precisely on the path.

I purposely set stealth VERY high. Looked all around the floor and just commented about the imported marble. Anyhow, discovered pattern to walk (sneak) and robbed the safe. 50,000 and some gold bars. For what use, buy the town of Volksville? Great puzzle.

I can get inside at night ok, but keep setting off gas alarm. Is there a certain level of sneaking required and what about a route on the floor?

Quest for Infamy / Revisiting the five steps to BT
« on: August 30, 2014, 09:49:25 PM »
BT likes you to pay attention....watching the intro?

Give credit where credit is due... buy Japsworth all the drinks he wants?

He likes numbers... the library book pages?

He likes fire... burn things at every opportunity?

Be patient and be hydrated.... drink booze till passing out?

Here is something I found by hacking the game.exe

This fine fellow is Blackthorne, one of the founders of Infamous Quests, and the writer of 'Quest For Infamy'. Everything I am saying right now, he thought of first. No way! Yes. He thought of that too. What a great fellow! Indeed. You don't want to starting something with him. If you're brave, challenge him with your sword! Hello there, Blackthorne, sir..

Blackthorne. Please. Call me Steve. Fine then. This is some kind of meta-conversation, isn't it, Steve?. Blackthore. You said it. I'm going to need therapy after this. You decide to challenge Blackthorne to combat.. Hey! You! Let's fight!.

Blackthorne. Every time I'm in a virtual bar, someone has to start with me... let's get this over.. This dashing young adventure is Klytos, the co-founder of IQ and co-creator of 'Quest For Infamy'! What a guy!. Klytos. You better believe it.. Blackthorne. Hah! Nice work pal. You nearly killed me then. Except of course, I'm invincible.. Blackthorne. Good use of healing potions too, that's gonna cost you a lot to replace.........

So you can clearly see the virtual bar does indeed exist. But you know, that sucks knowing something exists and not having access to it! Do you suppose the secret bar is behind the curtain in the tobacco shop?

You know, chucklas once posted:
It's like finding totaka's song.  The fun is in finding it, and once someone does, the fun is over.

That's like if you've never had something, you'll never miss it! An example, you're presently getting along ok on a meager income, then suddenly you learn that due to some mishap, you could have had $1 million but it got permanently misplaced. Since you never physically had it, you'll never miss it!

Seems like I have unknowingly stated something that actually makes sense!

There seems to be some confusion in the Killington Family Tree;
It's stated, when reading Jeremy Hummel's diary, that he's Jarrett's father.
There's no mention in the family tree of a Jeremy or Jarrett. Or am I missing something.

First you find him, then you attack him with the sword icon.  The steps described in the forums cover how to find him, not actually fight him.
"The steps described in the forums cover how to find him...." Maybe cryptographic statements about finding him, but NOT actually how to find him. Curses... fire the person that started the BT business in the first place. It has ruined the game for me at least.

Even Those who know will see?

Anyhow, finally realized the futility of playing a hack n slash and uninstalled R3. Threw away all documentation AND the game disk! The viewing of action further along of a shipboard cannon fight where you have to aim properly to sink the other ships. Hard to do on a rolling ship. A huge diversion from R1 and R2, which I played several times each.

I just don't know what to feel, being as I'm mostly a classical and operatic buff. Grew up with such radio shows as The Fat man, The Lone Ranger, The Shadow, etc. But the vids did have some pretty good beats.

Gamewise for QFI, I suspect that all scenes like Intro, mass crowd at beginning of act 1, and da%&*t the type in book in library, all have some importance. The scene ones should not be fast skipped but fully listened to and any other lengthy dialogues in game.

Those who know will be enlightened. Nah, probably not.
