Quest for Infamy / My biggest gripe about Infamy Points-

Why is there no badass sound effect or song when you score them?

So what were your favorite gaming magazines from the oldschool days?

I really like Nintendo Power as well as EGM.

I've been playing HQ.... the game is a LOT of fun playing as a Warrior.

Anyway, I'm at the library.  I noticed there was a shoutout to Quest for Infamy in one of the books!  8)

I'm curious there, where or where is that note located for "So you thought you were a Hero?" in the library?  I've searched all of the place there but I still have not found it yet.

Using the chain on the tree near the waterfall gives you a free Infamy point for effort. :)

Frankie Boyle is a hero of our people.

As for the topic of the language, we did discuss and review all the lines in the game, being a team of mixed genders and backgrounds, and tried to make sure we weren't being overly offensive while at the same time not stripping all the comedy/quirkiness out of it to be PC.  Always a bit of a delicate balance, and with different people being sensitive to different things, probably impossible to get it 100% right for everyone.  Hopefully any lines that do rub people up the wrong way are few and far between!

I wouldn't worry too much about my complaint, the only way to avoid being remotely offensive to anyone would be to completely sanitize it and turn Roehm into some generic heroism-fanatic.

What are you talking about?  This game's got plenty of sexy men for the ladies!  You've got Gorth and Jan and Kurdt and that Scottish guy in the kilt.  And don't forget the farmers in the tavern.  ;)

first demo, and yes.  there are other eggs in the demo.  one that allowed users to see some concept art, and a pretty awesome death that made its way into the main game, not that many people see it.  :)

How does one get to see the art?

Also, is the death in question the one involving the blacksmith?

Quest for Infamy / The one line from the narrator that bugged me
« on: July 28, 2014, 03:30:48 PM »
Okay, I don't want to sound like "Dick Cobblepott" (real name withheld) and get on top of some sort of "Male Feminist Crusader" high-horse, but there was one line in the game that seemed needlessly sexist.

As a Sorcerer the game refuses to let you give excess bees to that one beekeeper girl.  It says something like, "Don't give that bee to that bim!  You need it for Prospero!"  It does that even before Prospero tells you he needs it.

The main problem with the line is that the girl in question doesn't exhibit any negative qualities that would qualify her as a bimbo.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bimbo

She seems fairly intelligent, hard-working and down to earth, and doesn't act promiscuously, so it seems unfair that the Narrator insultingly calls her a bim from out of nowhere.

Quest for Infamy / The final bug!
« on: July 19, 2014, 06:02:26 PM »
Sorry for annoying ya'll with my bugs.  But I found the last one I could see!

During the final act, if you go and try to steal an apple in view of the Apple Man enough times, he'll go and summon Rayford to get you.

However, obviously he shouldn't be able to do that.  ;)

I've had a lot of fun finding all these bugs, really.  Not kidding either.  ;D   If I didn't enjoy this game so much I wouldn't have buggered with that.

Any chance I can get my name in the credits as a Tester? ;)

Quest for Infamy / Starting up a second quest
« on: July 17, 2014, 07:56:32 PM »
So my first quest was as a "Low-Profile Rogue" a nice man (with exception to his fanatical kleptomania) who deliberately attempted to maintain a low Infamy level so as to keep as much attention off of him as possible and appear respectable.  He even scored the "Never Mess with a Fat Man" Achievement.

THIS time I'm going to be playing a Pure-Evil Brigand, a bully who kills everything in his path and wants everyone to know how scary and badass he is!  I just killed the apple picker guy to steal his apple and gnab 15 infamy points, lol.

Quest for Infamy / Re: Is block too overpowered?
« on: July 17, 2014, 01:39:05 AM »
Now that I think about it, part of what made things so easy was that I had the best weapon (stole it, lol) and I was easily able to buy the best armor with the infinite amounts of money which lie in the path of a Rogue.  Combat was a lot tougher before then.  I was basically running around with Daedric Armor and a Daedric Sword and wondering why things were suddenly so much simpler, heh.

If I wanted to "up" the difficulty, a simpler method might be to simply go and change my armor into something weaker or simply not buy the best armor.  If I need a good reason, I can always just say that my Rogue's a cheap bastard. :)   Any chance of adding in Achievements for no/lesser armor playthroughs?
