Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Pinkerton Road's Mystery Game X is...

I, honestly, use the top bar more!  Old habits.  Not that I don't right click, but damn.  I just noticed. I love the bar.

Bt

Ha, I have always done that too, used the top bar...it's a habit from playing so many older adventure games that are more timed--the game will "pause" and I can have a second to ponder my next move.  Or if I walk onto an unknown screen, I have a chance to look around before Hagatha comes chasing after me..... :o

Can your loyal backers get yachts too?  ...No?  Cigarette boat then?

Breaking Bad is way too scary for you, yes.  You should play this game instead!

It's very fun, light and relaxing, I just know you'll love it!  ;D

Just because you said that, now I'm going to have to watch it.

Gahh...  Some of my friends have been trying to get me to watch this series on Netflix for some time now, and I was planning to start it but now not so sure I should...skerred!! :o

Quest for Infamy / Re: Upcoming Kickstarter for Art & Hint Book

Oh yeah--count me in.  This is looking fantastic.  I'm a person who wants all the maps & hints when I play an adventure game, so I would jump on this for that reason alone.  But all the other bonus sections you guys described makes me really excited.  It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, and I would really hate to see all you guys' hard work not be rewarded.

So you have my support, for certain.  If nothing else, I'll do it for Hobbs.   ;)

Don't laugh at me, but my first thought was that they're actually very good!  Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

You guys crack me up.  What kind of "experience" is necessary to be a tester?  I'd love to help out and be involved, but I worry that my lack of computer expertise might hinder me a bit--but again, I've never beta-tested a game so I dunno??

You won't hurt my feelings if you say "hell no"... :P

She was thrilled to "make history."  She bores me.

Next!   :P

Congratulations!

I downloaded the game fairly recently and couldn't get it to run, sadly...does it work with Dosbox or anything?  Anyone have a link to a current download?

Edit:  ok, probably only the link in the first post.  I'll just try to run it again when I get home from vacation & see if I'm more successful this time.  I'm not too handy running games if I have to tweak things a bit ;)

Sarah if you hop over to my QFG fan page (link in my signature) and visit the QFG4.5 page its got the download links and my walkthrough that contains a installation guide. If you have any troubles post here and we can all try & put our heads together to help out again lol.

PS a girls reaction to the game would be 'interesting' to say the least hahaha.

Alrighty...I had actually tried downloading & running it again when I originally posted that message but there's no winsetup.exe in the file, so my computer says something to the effect of "this system does not support full screen mode" when I click on the QFG.exe file.  There's a setup.bat file but tweaking that doesn't make a difference when trying to run the game.

I'll mess with it some more but any tips?  And you'll have to talk in layman's terms to me unfortunately, I'm a computer game freak but not very knowledgeable, ha.  Now, I did actually play this game a long time ago (on an older model computer I'm sure), and I do remember loving it.  Despite being a girl, it takes a lot to freak me out or insult me.  One of my favorite first games was Leisure Suit Larry, after all...;)

Heck yes, the more curves the better!

Big write-up at Destructoid:

Police Interrogation: Getting the skinny on Precinct

Sounds like a police officer simulator...

With the concentration on "realism" and "truly being there", I'm wondering if you'll have to manually fill out the paperwork, too.

Hah.  Wouldn't surprise me at all about the paperwork.  Jim Walls wants it to be pretty authentic if it's like his games in the 90's.  This game is just not my cup of tea...I liked his older games but only the old-retro style ones, which this is obviously not.  I'd have backed it if it was, although PQ was far from my favorite series.

I'm definitely in support of this.  I think the red herrings are a cute idea but only (IMHO) if the correct answers are given afterwards.  I'd be frustrated otherwise--I like my walkthroughs to be pretty straightforward.  But this old-school style with the decoder window is just awesome.  I'll back you guys for this, no question, regardless of how you want to design it.

Naked pics, I'd back for twice as much!   :P
