Quest for Infamy / Re: Bugfreeze: Kraken's Pool
« on: May 30, 2015, 10:03:48 AM »
Dont know if this has been resolved yet, but found it on google when doing a search, since I have the same issue in my game.

I have a save game where R is standing at the lake, before meeting the kraken. This happens:
If I walk up to the lake, the game freezes (infinite blinking skull icon).
If I walk out of the room, then back again and up to the lake, freeze.
If I stay in the room, look around everywhere, then walk up to the lake, freeze.
If I walk out of the room, then back in, and then look around everywhere, no freeze.

Thought ya might like to know.

Edit: Game is running on WinXP

The fact that I'm the voice of Kessel and my wife is the voice of Ina makes things all that more weird.

You voiced Kessel? He was so cool. Your voice really did the character justice.

I want Roehm to woo Ina. Get himself a bit of the olde wey-hey-hey.

Is this possible?

Wow, that's yet another astounding aspect of this game   :)

Anyway, having thought a bit more about it, I still am unsure of how this works, gamemechanics-wise:

Perhaps I am way out on a limb here, but is this not a quest for infamy? How come the more bad-ass choices makes the game harder or even impossible to complete?

This got me really puzzled when doing the moonshiner mission:

Finding the associate in the woods,

How come I get more infamy points for a solution that does not bring me further in the game?

And again with the moonshiner,

I don't understand the game mechanics behind these paradoxes?

If the bug is fixed already, have I missed a new version of the game? Or is a new version underway?

Same here, only i cant read the book in any way. If i look at it in inventory, i am told there is no door to open. If i click the book on roehm, nothing happens except the very first time i did that. The first time, i got a fullscreen picture of the open book. Afterwards, nothing.

I may be breaking all the rules of good conduct on internet forums, but I simply have to repeat myself on this one:

THIS GAME IS GREAT!

Made it through day 2 today, and I love it still more every minute!

The witty dialogue, the almost nihilistic storyteller, the lovely voice acting, the beautiful scenery, the lively and charming animation... I can't stop myself writing this.

Only, I'm really bad as a brigand. I showed mercy. I have much to learn.

I love this   ;D

Now this is really odd.

Overnight, this issue has fixed itself. I have no idea how.

When I play the game now, the screen is centered. Yesterday, it wasn't.

Anyway, everything just seems to work perfectly.

And what a great game it is. I love it!

I dont get any error messages saying things didnt install correctly, just the one mentioned above.
Anyway, I found winsetup.exe in the game folder, my bad.
And it works.
Still can't fix the screen being off to the left, though.

Well, I may have been ahead of myself asking. I downloaded the game right when it was publicized but haven't had time to play it until now. I can't even remember where I got it.
I am a backer and I think I got it from Humble. But that was some weeks ago. You may already have resolved this   ::)

There was only one setup file with the game I got. Don't see a winsetup.exe there.
Anyway, the game runs fine, though the screen is off by an inch.

Just installed, when trying to run setup I get hits message:

winsetupQFI.exe is not a valid win32-program.

Not what could that mean?  ???

Awww, a demo like that brings a nostalgic tear to the eye  :)

Gosh, I would just love to see that demo   ;D
