The demo is here.  Unfortunately the leader of the project died which, well, it's a pretty big setback....

So if you guys know anyone interested in helping out then please spread the word!  I'd love to do VA work in the game though I have no idea how to even go about doing that.

To be honest, I don't like the look of that at all.  I just went back and played the original with my son.  There is little need for a remake.  If anything, to remake it as Point and click while keeping the original art (like was done with The Black Cauldron) would be cool.

I think when they're accepting "any artists or animators" you know it's not a good sign for a project.

What do you expect?  They lost their general, their leader.  That's a major blow to any group, particularly a simple fan group that isn't a huge company or team.  I hope talented people will seek them out, I'd love to see a VGA remake of the game. :)

I guess Karen was a huge part of the project and did a lot of the work so her absence is going to be massive.

As to the game itself, while I'd love to see a KQ4 remake I really dislike the graphical style of this one. 3D is either excellent or crap, there's no margin for error. That's one of the reasons we stick with 2D pixel art.

I agree with you there (lots of 3D games look like shit, particularly adventure ones) but I actually do like the art for this.
