Bear in mind as well that a game with a well known name (or made by a well known name) whether it is a remake or not, is often a safer bet than a total unknown/newcomer in the eyes of the casual consumer. By casual I mean someone who hasn't been avidly following the kickstarters and hype pre release, but may just stumble across it on Steam or in a shop. It's a pimped out version of something you already know you like, but may not have played for a long time, so I think they can justify the extra money from that point of view.
We're always going to have to work harder to bring in fans/consumers because we're really just starting out in the commercial world, but I think $15 is a reasonable price either way. Better than AAA prices, right?
