Quest for Infamy / Re: Designing the IQ logo

I'm just seeing this now, but thanks for posting! I enjoyed learning of the progression of a great logo!

Woooooo!! What a lovely poster as well!

It's strange now. QFG is now not the only game that blends RPG with Adventure anymore. There are so many other inspired games now! For so long fans have been longing for another such title but it never came. Turned out when the time came and people were able, they took action themselves and all of them made spectacular games to compliment the QFG series. :)

The thing I still like about forums is that you can keep your anonymity.

Sorry, that's a derail. I'm glad Paul is probably out of the picture now and we can all rest easy knowing he can do nothing more to anybody with any real level of influence. PHEW!

IQ Chat / Re: Question about ingame highlights

We didn't have Amigas, Commodores, PCjrs, or Apples when I was a kid. Everything was Tandy up until our first 486. We had a Tandy Color Computer 3 (TRS-80 equivalent that hooked up to the TV) which took cartridges, 5.25" floppies, and cassette tapes, and a Tandy 1000 after that. Loved the Tandy 3-voice/PCjr/SMS sound system. Wish I could have played around with all the different flavours of computers back then, though!

The CD version of Battle Chess was far different. Hi res graphics and CD Audio music and sounds for the battles. Also has a particularly hilariously fully voiced tutorial of all the pieces talking about their moves. I'm surprised they never put it on GoG with the others.

Thank you, Goat!

Uncontrolled Reentry is now available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby (eventually), with more online music stores to come over time. So if you prefer those mediums you can get it there now too! It's also still available on my website/Bandcamp store. If you did buy my track a rating and/or a review doesn't hurt either. :) You can rate/review on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and also my main Bandcamp music store.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / My Debut Single Release - Uncontrolled Reentry
« on: November 21, 2013, 07:35:28 PM »
Hey, guys! I'm excited to announce my first step on my own into the music industry (besides the game work I've done) with my first song entitled "Uncontrolled Reentry"!

It's a 9-minute instrumental with elements of electronic, rock, progressive, and probably more reflecting my personal journey through life, how unpredictable it's been, and how I'm positive and excited about where the future will take me. All that fancy wording aside, it's basically just finally my own project with my own ideas and outlook on music that I've been wanting to get out there for years. It's inspired by artists like Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre, and even bands like Dream Theatre and Pagan's Mind. It's available from my website BrandonBlume.com, my Facebook Page and my Bandcamp music store and also available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, CD Baby, and eventually more.

I'm releasing this single preemptively to support a forthcoming full-length album I'm thinking of calling "Peaks and Valleys". I'll be representing a somewhat wider variety of styles in the full album in various ways, but mostly by combining my favourite sounds into one style, similar to how I've done that in this single.

You can stream Uncontrolled Reentry from my Bandcamp music store or from my SoundCloud. If you like what you hear and want to hear more please consider throwing me a dollar and supporting me and my project!

I hope you enjoy it! And if you do please spread the word and mention it to your friends. :)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: New QfG style game in SCI
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:43:25 AM »
He's using (purposely) Sierra's original EGA SCI interpreter which doesn't support VGA. You will actually need DOSBox to play this (which will be included in the install automatically, I imagine). ScummVM or an old computer would work too. :)

Cyan (makers of Myst and Riven) are making a brand new first person explorative adventure game with the Unreal 4 engine. "Obduction" is on Kickstarter and is already 55% funded (with a goal of $1.1m with 11k backers at the moment) with still 20 days to go.

I've been waiting for a new game from Cyan for a long time. I love everything they do. I think it was smart to not do just another Myst sequel, but we need more games with Myst's style and atmosphere!
