Title: NEWS pew reference? dementium?
Post by: Kaldire on August 08, 2014, 08:44:13 PM
well I have dementium 2 for DS

and one puzzle in this  terrible game is to see hanging bodies with numbers  on the ground is N and arrows to imply n s e w

on the paper you get it says follow the NEWS
so my question is
was this a reference to that game? or are boths a ref to something else

The same puzzle also exists in Might & Magic VI. And the same News/NEWS pun is also used by dervish in Quest for Glory II. I guess it's a rather common play on words.

I think it's a pretty common myth that the word news originated from the cardinal directions.
