well I have dementium 2 for DS
and one puzzle in this terrible game is to see hanging bodies with numbers on the ground is N and arrows to imply n s e w
on the paper you get it says follow the NEWS
so my question is
was this a reference to that game? or are boths a ref to something else

I think it's probably just coincidence, since there are only so many acronyms that one could form with the letters "N, E, W, S.

The same puzzle also exists in Might & Magic VI. And the same News/NEWS pun is also used by dervish in Quest for Glory II. I guess it's a rather common play on words.
