Order of the Thorne : The King's Challenge / Re: Post-mortem thoughts
« on: January 12, 2018, 03:59:39 PM »
I have another idea: revamp the game's site a little! Do you know why I only bought the game today? Because from the screenshots included on the site I thought it would be boring - cute, yes, but monotonous... The screenshots included only represent a small part of the game. You could show that it's more diverse, for example add a screenshot from the dock, a screenshot from the swamp...

IQ Chat / Re: What's the status of Roehm to Ruin?
« on: January 12, 2018, 09:39:37 AM »
Hello,
any news?
I enojoyed the main game a lot and "Roehm to Ruin" seems very promising in terms of graphics. For example, I love sceneries of medieval-like towns in games and the street scenery from "Roehm to Ruin" seems even better than Volksville sceneries in "Quest for Infamy" RPG...

Quest for Infamy / Re: Karenina bug

I always play games in windowed mode and used the winsetup file immediately after downloading the game for this feature. I didn't know Alt-Tab, actually I don't know many keyboard shortcuts, rarely press them on purpose and all the time press some shortcut accidentally...

Quest for Infamy / Karenina bug

I don't know, perhaps someone has already noticed and mentioned it - if so, you can just delete this topic. Anyway, there seems to be a bug in Karenina's tent. When I talk to her, the text progresses so quickly that I can barely read it - actually, I haven't had time to read every word, I just managed to get a general idea of what she said.

Have there been any changes to the map between version 1.0 and 1.1? Because, for the life of me, I can't find the extra entrance to South Woods, the one involving the bear... There is no path leading south beyond the bridge, only the road to Tyr.

But it costs. I'd rather get no sleep than spend money on something I don't need. Plus, I, as a person, am asexual. Plus I, as a person, am against prostitution (or, more precisely, against johns, not against prostitutes who are just victims of this system) and if I weren't asexual, I would anyway never have sex with someone for whom I don't feel love or other kind of closeness. It's just against my rules.

Yes, I know it - you mean the Mystical Lockpick spell? I have it, but when I try using it on the door, I can't even see my stats growing, as I said.

I can't seem to open that door next to the library anyway. And I can't even see my stats growing, so it feels like I'm barking up the wrong tree and not just having too little power.

Quest for Infamy / Stuck in Tyr for the night?
« on: June 21, 2017, 10:22:19 AM »
I'm replaying the game as a Sorcerer. However, I'm worried about one thing. The Rogue uses the underground tunnels for quick travel, the Sorcerer doesn't. I needed something from Tyr in the night. Now how do I get back out? Am I stuck here? And if I'm stuck, can I sleep at some inn? I don't have the Float on a Cloud spell yet, perhaps it would get me out?
Btw. Other classes can do some illegal business too. I even tried robbing Rayford, but I can't open his chest. Where and how do non-Rogues practice their thievery skills?

Quest for Infamy / Quest for Infamy 2?

I just wonder: are you planning to create another game in the series? I know that you're slowly trying to finish the prequel, still the ending points towards a continuation and there is a possibility to save the character (something that, if I remember well, was unfortunately missing in "Heroine's Quest", for example)...

Too bad I don't even know what "nearest-neighbor filter" really is - I just know I encounter this phrase and that I need it to display games in doubled resolution.

I'm definitely "old school" also when it comes to Facebook - I may read profiles, but don't have an account. I just hate being forced to do something an nowadays not using Facebook is perceived as so weird...

By the way, another thieving question.House by the smithy - the blacksmith is standing there all night!...

By th way, it's not really 320x200, it's 640x400 - your screens DO have some "single-pixel" elements, that is, things not drawn in doubled resolution.
I personally prefer when games in retro resolution don't have such elements. In old games when someone was closer to the back of the screen, zhe was shown as smaller without using single-pixel lines - at the cost of details, of course. I think it looks better, "cleaner", if a game is either pure 640x400 (retro examples: "Die Höhlenwelt-Saga" or most Humongous Entertainment games) or pure double-320x200 without single pixels. Plus, there's the issue of screenshot cropping... it's annoying, but I kinda like it. If my collection of screenshots from a game doesn't have any single pixels anywhere, I can resize them from double to single resolution and save a bit of disk space. (It grew out of converting Scumm VM screenshots - D-Fend Reloaded automatically resizes double-320x200 to single, Scumm VM doesn't, plus bitmaps are horribly huge and Scumm VM saves screenshots as BMP - so in case of games I play through Scumm VM, after I finish it and select screenshots, the next thing I do is convert them to PNG and resize them. And it's amazing to see how much "weight" these screenshots lose after BMP-to-PNG conversion plus resizing - for example, in case of "Zak McKracken" they went from 900 KB to approx. 25 KB.)
Unless I'm mistaken, "Heroine's Quest" and Wadjet Eye games also do have single-pixel lines, the "King's Quest", "Space Quest" and "Quest for Glory 2" remakes, "Kathy Rain" and "Stair Quest" don't.

I'm new to (playing) the game and new to the forum.
Well, asking a question like this shows by itself that I've been helping myself with some walkthroughs ;) and so this way I know that you can rob the bank.
However, when I do... I only get about 1000 blys from the safe! What have I done wrong?
I'm now in Act 2, I have tried the bank twice around days 5-7.
I bought my version on GOG recently.

Btw, there's something wrong with the forum - I haven't received an activation e-mail even after two days, the webmaster had to activate my account manually.
