Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: It's Official, TellTale's KQ is cancelled!

Considering that guy's, er, "reputation" that is taken with a truck load of salt, isn't it.

Roberta'd be more likely to get involved with her son's company I'd imagine, if she ever wanted to come out of retirement.

Well, with Ubisoft getting into the retro action with Might and Magic X, maybe Activision are thinking the same thing with the Sierra titles they still own...

Wonder who'll screw things up more though?

Hey, thanks man!  You know, it really is the support of the fans and the word of mouth you provide that helps us.  We really do have an awesome cadre of fans around here.

Sure, my pleasure!  It has been a while since I have done much game evangelizing..

Such a wonderful game to do and beyond any doubt the best Ultima remake to date.

Perhaps you could kill whoever you wanted but it would have to result in a death or a restore. Why? Because that character may have been important to the story to complete the game and by killing him or burning down his house you would have in fact made it impossible to finish the game.
Or perhaps a justifiable dead end. If a player is going to be childish enough to go around slaughtering everything that moves, let them move on to a brainless FPS or pay the consequences of an unwinnable game.
Or perhaps:

Quote from: Morrowind
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created.

Okay, we're getting closer to me understanding this, thank you.

I tried making a copy of a random cfg file, then I opened it in Notepad.  I replaced everything inside with...

"Code: [Select]

[sound]
digiindx=0
digiid=-1
midiindx=7
midiid=1297110304

[misc]
screenres=1
"

I still can't get it to work, what else do I need to do or what am I doing wrong?  Again, you gotta give me directions like I'm Forest Gump on this, lol.

(note- i just played QFG1 again!  I'm looking forward to this game even if it is kinda stupid, for no other reason than to do something with that log, go into the graveyard crypt, into the mountain pass and maybe climb up the castle.)

You copied literally everything - including parts of the forum post.

Anyway, http://sslaxx.twu.net/acsetup.cfg should be what you need.

Well, looking at the prequels...

But it'd be interesting to know how good is too good, too. I doubt Roehm is ever going to be a knight in shining armour, somehow, but if you wanted to, how "good" could you play him?

Quest for Infamy / Re: Getting rid of Rayford- speculations?
« on: February 23, 2013, 03:42:13 PM »
Rayford is a bastard because.... well, we don't quite know yet from the demos, but the executed guy seems to hint he is as does using the sword icon on his house.

You can't just kill him without a small army of guards hunting you down so, how shall he be finished?

1. BRIGANDS- They straight-up kill the bastard while he's relatively unguarded traveling in a distant land in a way that keeps suspicion off them, then threaten/blackmail his successor who is either a brigand or a yes-man puppet.  Kurdt marries his unhappy wife/daughter who is surprisingly fond of him.  Brigands take control of the guards and enjoy a nice extortion racket in exchange for keeping the peace.

2. THIEVES- Rayford is framed for a massive crime-wave.  Evidence is found leaking him to the crime wave, and the robbery of his house is viewed as being forged by him as a cover.  Thieves bribe the successor and bring crime to a balance in the land.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guild_of_Thieves

3. WIZARD- Being a badass wizard pimp, and Rayford harassing him, Prospero cooks up a spell of craziness to be used on Rayford.  Rayford goes on a mad rampage, and is later put to death.  Rayford's skull is later turned into a familiar, or his corpse becomes a mindless zombie used for simple tasks.

4. ??? Rayford is framed and sent to prison, where he is raped to death by an ogre.

cackles at option 4 Of course, it'd be more fun to get him on your side. Nothing more satisfying than turning an enemy into a friend, after all!

You know when you are old if you can actually remember when floppy disks were floppy :p
Good old 5¼ discs... very much preferred the 3½ versions though...

Yeah, I've been reading about this for a bit, and it's really, really disheartening.

Always bad apples out there, unfortunately.
