Also in regards to the ps4 trophy if anyone else has problems with it:

I've heard that it might also need to be gotten on the sorcerer run, so if you've gotten all other trophies and it still hasn't popped try another sorc run

It does make sense that since the Necromancer side-quest is only available to the Sorcerer, the Brigand and Rogue cannot loot her or her area once she's defeated... so neither of those two classes can technically "get everything" in the mines.

Not so spoil anything for your quest, but last year I made a complete walkthrough (with Klytos's blessing, of course) on how to find BT in the IQ Virtual Bar.

Note that these are not hints/puzzles/suggestions but the actual 5 steps to get there, all spelled out:

Spoiler (hover to show)

The forum topic that has hints/puzzles/suggestions for the IQ Virtual Bar / Hunt for BT thread is here:

Give me a day or two -- it's certainly not polished in any way.

I'll PM you here.  :)

Quest for Infamy / Re: How to Find Blackthorne?
« on: June 12, 2021, 09:13:35 PM »
Back almost 6 years ago, I created a TXT file with detailed instructions on how to get to the IQ Virtual Bar and fight Blackthorne -- well, the in-game Blackthorne, not the real one (after all, he's a heck of guy!).  I also gathered/included various clues that folks had given here on the IA forums back in the day.

Even though (1.) some of these are quite obscure, with people not really knowing even where or how to look for some of the tasks/answers here in 2021, and (2.) despite the fact that the game has been out now for almost 7 years, Blackthorne and Klytos still might not be too happy if we just spilled the beans to everyone.

Who knows?  Perhaps enough time has passed that they may not have a problem with it.  If they give us the go ahead, I'll post my guide, but until then...   ;)

In fact, I think Klytos had mentioned over the last year or two that one Easter egg has still not been discovered.

Klytos & Blackthorne --

I _just_ got the joke for the name "Nevad 'Yrt Rule":

"Nevad 'Yrt" is an anagram/'reversal and split' of "Daventry".   8)

Happy to help.   :)

Roehm as a dad? His first words finding out: Oh crap.

Or with his Scottish accent, "Ooo, crop!"   ;)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Congratulations, Steve, on your new transplant!
« on: November 07, 2020, 03:19:18 PM »
For those of you who aren't on Twitter (which includes me, though I do lurk from time to time), Steve got a call yesterday (Nov 06) that they had a donor kidney and was first in line.  He left for the hospital to do a blood test, then he was off to surgery.

He just posted a quick video a 1/2 hour ago (Nov 07) that the surgery was a success, and his transplant is functioning and making product already (!).

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy.

We love you, Steve, and we're all rooting for you -- now go and finish up some IQ games, will ya !!!   ;)

Yeah, that's right!  I forgot -- you did mention that a few years back...  I new the King of Lonaria factored in somehow.

Love the idea of the Roehm having a Snake Plisken-type problem: find the President and receive the antidote, or don't and die within 24 hours.

I still like my super-secret ending to QFI where Roehm meets the King of Lonaria for the first time, which leads to the start of QFI2:

Quote

When you exit from Swart's cart, you can wander though a few screens of Castle Lonaria, looking for the lavatory (it WAS a long cart ride, you know).

Anyway, when you finally find the loo and Roehm enters it, he mutters, "Cripes, what an ooo-dor!  Where the hell's the chambermaid?"

There is a loud, "A-HEM."

A curtain opens, and the King of Lonaria rises from a seated position, adjusts his robe, and places his crown on his head.  And he does NOT look amused.

Roehm then says, "Ooo!  Nice one, your Highness.  I didn't mean to catch you on the 'throne,' but before you make me kiss yer ring, hows about you wash up first? Hah!"

And that's where the special sneak peak of QFI2 ends...

Absolutely loved the Kransa Overlook screen in QFI.  Sure it's a screen that's essentially a "dead-end / boundary of the playable area" screen, but it gives two crucial bits of information: reinforcing that Roehm can't go back the way he came (because of the Baron), but more importantly, gives the relative positions of some of the more important places in the Valley of Krasna -- Volksville, Brattle's Cabin, the ruins of Killington Manor, the Morroi Fortress, the King's Road, the King's Bridge, the Great Oak Tree, the old Hummel place, and Hermit Homestead.

Always thought it would make a nice wallpaper background, so I ran it through one of those neural network enhancers:

... and maybe the Baron's daughter?  Perhaps we will find out in Roehm to Ruin?

As a beta tester, I can say you will DEFINITELY find out the answer in RTR.   ;)

Some of us hardcore IQ-ers are still here and check in regularly.

I, too, am a fan and player, not a developer.

If Adventuress's tips don't work, you may need to wait until one of the developers shows up.  They are busy with real life and creating other IQ games, but do make an appearance here every so often.

If there is truly a problem, they would know.   ;)

Quest for Infamy / Re: Burning down the house...
« on: May 26, 2020, 08:52:27 PM »
I thought that I saw somewhere that you can burn down Rayford's house after you rob it... I have tried but been unsuccessful.  Maybe I am just thinking of the monastery in QFG4?

Unless that's been something new added to the QFI 2.0 beta, I don't believe so...

At least, it's never been present in any of the Infamy Points list or Achievement list that I've seen from the developers (from back in the day) -- and doing something like burning down Rayford's house should most DEFINITELY show up as an Achievement or score MAJOR Infamy points.

You _CAN_ burn something else down to obtain a spell component, however.
