For those who haven't taken the time, I highly recommend giving the recent Just Press Start interview with Shawn and Steve a listen (assuming, that is, you're not in one of the 'restricted' countries):

While written write-ups of interviews are nice, this is 55 minutes of behind-the-scenes "what it takes" (both theory and design) to make a quality game like QFI.
 
Kudos to interviewer Jeff Ortloff for asking the in-depth questions from a gamer's perspective.
