Gotta let you sheep lovers win a cup every so often. Otherwise it would just be boring. (Please note this does not refer to State of Origin which is only supposed to be won by Queensland. Ever.)

Our friends over at Replay Games have just released Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded, a modern and fresh remake of the now-classic original.

Go over there. Buy it now. It's well worth it!

Thanks for your kind words about the demo! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!

To answer your questions and comments!

The Voice Acting - Thanks! We're also very proud of the voice acting, it's not an easy job voicing video games and our people did a fantastic job. As for the recording quality, the demo was more of a "show you the ideas" kind of thing than a polished product, so a lot of work will be going into the post production of the full game than went into the demo.

The Art - I'm sure our artists will be VERY pleased to think that someone thought they used to work for Sierra! They're a talented bunch of people that's for sure. I personally have no idea who drew the fishermans cottage, but Jeremy Kitchen, our art director on QFI did the Inn. (Please correct me if I'm wrong there any team members!) As for the resolution, we like the classic 320x240 look to be honest and it's really a design choice more than anything else.

The GUI - It's had a few changes since the demo.

Direction - Volksville can be a bit confusing in the demo, there's a few extra screens in the final product which make it easier to navigate.

Writing - Thanks! Steven Alexander (BT) my partner in crime in all things Infamous wrote the story and the overwhelming majority of the dialog in the demo. And the full game, although I've got a few bits in the full game too. I'm glad you like it. That's exactly what we were aiming for!

Roehm - He's a right bastard. I love him.

Quest for Infamy / The Mines
« on: June 17, 2013, 03:08:16 AM »
Many years ago there lived a race of Dwarves, far away in the distant westlands, in a region called the Uplifted Mountains. These Dwarves were a surly lot, as Dwarves tend to be, and had a vast distrust of all other races which bordered on an almost pathological hatred. One thing the Dwarves did love was money. It mattered not whether it was precious jewels, gold, silver, bronze, or even Blythos' (the common trading currency.) As long as it was valuable, the Dwarven people loved it. A bard (a half Dwarf) was travelling through the westlands and a band of Dwarves from the Uplifted Mountains heard him sing a tale of riches  in the far off valley of Volksville. Natural caves that were rich with minerals were sitting untouched by Dwarven (and any other) hand.

So this band of Dwarves, not willing to share this wealth with others, traveled to Volksville and began mining these precious minerals. They expanded the caves into a labyrinth-like maze, mining all the precious minerals, processing them, and then sending them back to the Uplifted Mountains.

The mines are haunted by all manner of undead creatures and are regularly patrolled by the Dwarven miners. As well, there are strange rumors of an evil presence in the eastern portion of the mines. So beware, while it may be a maze and there are certainly riches to be found there, danger abounds!

You may remember back in our Kickstarter we promised extra content, part of that extra content is the Dwarven mines. There is some questing to be done in the mines, but it is optional and not required to complete the game. But it's worth it if you do!

The mines are awesome. I may even write a bit of a blog about them for you. Maybe. If you're nice. :)

Hey guys, just a heads-up that I edited a few posts above to remove some links. While my personal point of view says "go for it!" because they're simply not available anywhere else, the reality is that these games are owned by someone and unlike a trademark, they don't slip into public domain just because they're old or not available to purchase.

So we can't allow links to pirated software on IQ.

Thanks for being awesome!

I just read the 29th and final novel in the Riftwar Saga by Raymond Feist. Big big fan, my favorite series and favorite author. I love Douglas Adams writing, it's so witty and charming and funny. But mostly I read biographies, a lot of sport stars, business people and politicians. Especially those of a different political persuasion than myself. Know thy enemy.

BGII is much superior to the first one. I very much enjoyed it, as well as Dragonshard and Demon Stone. They're both pretty good RPG's.

Funny enough, the first games I've played in a while because I've been working on QFI have been a few of the Sierra titles (which I picked up really cheap on GoG.)

Gave Gabriel Knight I a crack again, still don't like it. Too wordy.

Have been having a good laugh at LSL7 and just played through SQ4 again.

I've also started The Longest Journey, which I had never played before and I LOVE!

That's my boy, Oliver. He's awesome, and such a little clone of me that this video screamed out to be made!

My first post in this thread, and it's got very little (ok, nothing at all) to do with QFI, IQ or Adventure Games.

You see, if you're unaware, Australia is going through a pretty severe season of natural disasters and where I live has just been flooded. We were cut off for a few days, which wasn't too bad, but we lost our phone lines, power and fresh drinking water as well as a heap of other things as well, which was worse. So the good news is that a lot of that stuff is back up, but the bad news is that I STILL don't have a phone line into my house, so therefore no internet! My computer got fried in one of the storms, and I am getting a replacement under warranty, so I'm back to my old laptop which unfortunately doesn't have my QFI source code on it. (Don't worry, Chucklas is still working on the game, we backup to our servers very very often.) So the old laptop is basically a piece of shit, but it does have a copy of AGS and some old source codes on it, so I've been playing with some stuff and creating some awesome things. But it doesn't have wireless, which sucks, so I can't get online with it. I do have my iPad to post on forums and such so I'm staying in the loop which is fun.

So that's what I've been up to the last two weeks. Exciting stuff.

You may now return to your usual programming.
