just drop it in the game's folder.

Please elaborate.  What do I do exactly?  I tried copying that text into a random cfg file and putting it into the game's folder but, it had no effect.

What I believe Collector is saying is:

1. Download the file (Right-click and "Save Link As...")

2. Move that file to the folder that contains the games data.  As you have not stated what type of operating system you are running (Windows 8 / 7 / Vista / XP / ME / 2000 / 98 / 95 / Win 3.1 ), it may be in a different folder location...

NOTE:

A. Do NOT copy the data into a new file or change the name of the file in any way.  The game SPECIFICALLY looks for the file named "acsetup.cfg" that Sslaxx has posted.

How do I figure out what system I'm running it in?

I tried putting the file in the folder that appeared when I unzipped the dlable zip file, but nothing happens when I try to then open it with the qfg.exe file.

Right-click on "My Computer" (if you have that on your desktop), then Left-click on "Properties."

Alternately, you can use this link from Microsoft:

Alright so I'm operating Windows 7....

What do I have to do then to set up the game?

"2. Move that file to the folder that contains the games data.  As you have not stated what type of operating system you are running (Windows 8 / 7 / Vista / XP / ME / 2000 / 98 / 95 / Win 3.1 ), it may be in a different folder location..."

How do I find the exact folder location then?

download the windows version here
http://www.curlysworldoffreeware.com/games/view/238
and follow these steps

"The rare Windows version will not install on modern computers without creating a workaround. To get the windows version to work, create a shortcut to QFG4.EXE, and add the line "--setup" at the end of the shortcut's Target field. This will load up the graphics and sound setup window. On modern machines switch the graphics to 640 x 480. For best results play in full screen mode. Once you have changed the settings then you can use the QFG4.EXE to enter the game. "

"and add the line "--setup" at the end of the shortcut's Target field."

How do I do that part exactly?

"C:\Desktop\QFGArgh\QuestforGlory412\QFG.exe"

to

"C:\Desktop\QFGArgh\QuestforGlory412\QFG.exe--setup"

complains that such a path does not exist.

Also, I can't open the setup.bat file by itself. :(  All that happens is that a small black screen appears and disappears for 1/10th of a second without me being able to read it at all.

there should be a space before the dashs
so it should look like
QFG.exe --setup

"C:\Desktop\QFGArgh\QuestforGlory412\QFG.exe"

"C:\Desktop\QFGArgh\QuestforGlory412\QFG.exe  setup"

Is that what the target should be changed to?  What should the target read as exactly?

ok for simplify sake
1. download the windows version
2.inside the filder right-click rgw main exe(QFG.exe) and make a shortcut
3. edit the short cut so in the target after qfg.exe it says --setup
so it should look like qfg exe --setup
4. hit apply
 6. run the shortcut and check rgw video mode to 64x480
7. now run the main qfg.exe

Thanks, it's working now!

A few questions....

1. Am I ONLY allowed to walk like an idiot in this game?!

2. What bugs should I be concerned with while I play it?

Bt

Are you kidding?

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!

I love the politically incorrect humor and references to old Sierra games!

My favorite part is when the evil monk's portrait has the same swampy mist background as in Robin Hood, even though he's in a catacomb!  This game kicks ass!
