IQ Chat / New Website & Forum
« on: June 11, 2020, 03:10:36 PM »
Hey guys, long time since I've posted.

So I stumbled across the old website, thought it looked outdated so I've now rebuilt it. It's cleaner, sharper and responsive.

Also made the forums responsive too and got rid of that broken Tapatalk bollocks.

I know nobody really uses forums anymore, but figured I'd put a little message. Probably still some broken bits here and there so will get to it.

Ta.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / World Cup 2014
« on: June 09, 2014, 04:01:21 AM »
So, the World Cup returns this week. Not sure how many sporting fans we have here but thought I'd put a poll up to see who you think will win the World Cup in Brazil. Brazil and Argentina are certainly the top favorites but anyone can win it. Italy won it in 2006 and Spain won it in 2010.

I've put the favorites up but obviously put Other for the country you think will win and feel free to post who and why. I'm behind England all the way but I doubt they'll get very far. My bet is on Argentina to win the World Cup.

So what are your predictions? Will you be watching the World Cup? Do you hate "soccer"? Will England progress out of the group stages? Who knows! Probably not on the latter though.

IQ Chat / Infamous Quests at GDC 2014
« on: April 23, 2014, 03:07:41 PM »
Shawn, Josh and Steve (Bt) went to GDC in San Francisco last month to show off Quest For Infamy to the public! We had several backers show up, meet and chat with us - as well as play QFI in our show loft!  It was an amazing time - we were able to show the game to a lot of people, and we met some amazing people and peers!  Ragnar Tornquist stopped by and showed off a bit of "Dreamfall" The upcoming Longest Journey Sequel, and I can say - it was awesome!  If you haven't seen the game play video that's out there, check it out.  I can say, it's a really cool experience to see the developer play the game they've been working on, and talk with them about development, and trade war stories.  He also played Quest For Infamy while there, and was really charmed by it, apparently! Heh.  Jane Jensen was also there, in our loft, showing off Moebius and Gabriel Knight: Sins of The Father 20th Anniversary Edition - and she was sweet, charming and gracious to us - sharing stories of working at Sierra, working on KQ6 and sharing office space with Scott Murphy of Space Quest fame.

Shawn and Steve, doing what they do, and Jane Jensen, smiling for the camera!

View in the Loft at GDC, where we demoed QFI

Phoenix Online, our publisher, really put us out there and had us meet with many of the press - it was a very exciting experience, and I had to pinch myself many times to make myself believe I was there.  Many times during our trip, I kept thinking about you all - our backers - and how we got to make this game because of you, and I know I can never say thank you enough for believing in us and taking a chance with us.  We held our own amongst others who had Kickstarters who raised far more than us, but I know our fans are more fervent, loyal, inspiring and amazing!  I can't wait to be able to share the game with you - and, like I said, we'll have big news coming soon.

Had to share this. We attended "The Adventure Party" where we met some great people, like Oded Sharon on the far Right, Dave Gilbert behind him, and some guy on the left named Ron Gilbert. Apparently made something like Monkey House or Island, I dunno..

I'm kidding.  Ron Gilbert - the man who created the SCUMM Engine and made Monkey Island? To say I was humbled is me putting it lightly!

Steve, Shawn and Katie from Phoenix at The Adventure Party. Bt is not having a good time, as you can see.

Shawn and Steve - after a long day at GDC, unwinding in the Hotel Bar... with more computers.

Anyway - just wanted to share a few photos - and, again, say thank you backers.  The end is in sight.  We all still have more to come, but we're almost there - and it's been my privilege to create this game for you.  I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, and I will always acknowledge that I couldn't have made this game without the help of about 1,900 friends.

IQ Chat / Quest For Infamy – 2014 Update!
« on: February 01, 2014, 07:24:08 AM »
Let’s get into it – we are in the home stretch with Quest For Infamy.  This game has been a crazy experience to produce, but I can say it’s been one of the greatest experiences of my life.  We have an amazingly talented team, and we’ve been making the kind of game we’d like to play – and I hope you enjoy it when it finds its way into your hands!

A work in progress background by Jason Lamb

Heh, keeping some things saved for release, I did want to share this image with you, because it made us all nuts.

NEWS NEWS & MORE NEWS

Okay – well, the first item of big news that I want to share is that the game will be going to public Beta at the end of next month for those who have pledged access for it.  I’m excited about that – I’m eager to get more outside eyes on the game, and I have to thank all our testers so far, including the amazing Michael Shaw and the incredible Serena Nelson.  They’ve been helping us polish up the game with their many playthroughs, and it really means a lot to us – because they’re already incredibly busy in their lives!!  So, it will be great to share the game with you next month!  I’ll be in touch with the tiers that have access and we’ll have fun exploring the Valley of Krasna together.

I’d also like to announce out upcoming Kickstarter for “The Quest For Infamy Companion”.  We’re going to be having a campaign to raise money to produce our official hint book/guide/art book for Quest For Infamy!  Not only will the game have a complete walkthrough, point list, and secrets gallery – it’ll have full color & full resolution reproductions of the artwork from the game.  Portraits by Jenny Pattison, backgrounds by Jeremy Kitchen, Jason Lamb, Ivan Ulyanov and more will be there, along with sketches, designs, doodles, concept art and other visual goodies that made up the production of the game! With notes and commentary from the authors, you’ll be able to appreciate the work that went into the art of this game.  The Quest For Infamy Companion will also feature a “hints” section, for those who don’t want a full walk-through, but merely “hints” to get you through… and what kind of hint book would be complete without a red-reader decoder to view the hints? None, that’s the answer – so ours will have one!

We’ll be launching this campaign in the coming week – if anyone would like to see the preview, let me know.  There will be a variety of tiers and rewards, something for everyone and every budget. This is going to be a very great item to add to your collection and I’m very excited to be able to produce this to showcase our artists work.  They’re all amazing and they really believed in this project.

Finally, we will have news on the final release date soon – as SOON as that becomes solid and available, you’ll see a big update with fireworks.  But I can promise it’s very soon!!

Thanks for sticking with us.  As a small, independent team, we love and rely on the support from our fans… this experience has given me so much, from the time ages ago when we dreamed up an idea…. to now, where we stand, about ready to finish… it’s amazing.

Hope you all are well, and I hope your 2014 is a great year! Sincerely, best wishes from me and ALL the crew at Infamous Quests.
