Yeah I must admit when I see the talk of a sequel being made I can't help but think about how I've still never received the physical copy of the first game!

However considering Steve's situation I don't think there's much of any weekly sending going on as he's been needing every dollar and donation given just to stay on top of his medical bills and stay alive which I can certainly understand hence why I haven't come barging in here and had a meltdown like some have (I just did a pass on the comments area of the kickstarter and oh man is it savage, so have posted there again explaining the situation). Although it irks me a bit that those who came here and were rude and threatening got their copy while those of us who were quiet, patient and supportive may never get it.

Shawn/Klytos said he was going to send me a spare copy he had instead (as we're both Aussies) however I never got anything after giving my address and I notice he deleted me off his facebook a few months ago so yeah.. I don't think that's happening either lol.

Sucks but what can ya do.. at least this game got finished and we got something digital.. can't say the same for some other ones I backed.

Quest for Infamy / Super old early 2000s QFI demo
« on: April 05, 2020, 06:45:01 AM »
Hey guys,

I was just going through my Quest for Glory related games tribute website and updating stuff, fixing broken links etc and I noticed something I keep forgetting to contact you about.

As you may recall for thoroughness and historical purposes I tribute both your newer QFI game and your old QFI game on my site (screenshot attached), and the old QFI tribute download link hasn't worked in years as I had it linking to the thread Klytos made at your old IA forums where he posted screens and the demo of the old QFI game. Annoyingly I can't seem to find my copy of the demo so I can't even host it myself to fix things.

Any chance someone can send me a copy again? or recover that thread which may still have a working download link?

Original thread at IA was here:

Been meaning to drop by and see when my physical copy was coming but have since seen that BT's in real trouble health wise again. I've donated to the gofundme and am crossing my fingers all goes well with the transplant from his wife. I've also posted about the situation over on the Kickstarter comments as people there were getting super aggro and threatening legal action etc.. sigh.

Hey guys.. someone appears to have made a QFI forum over at neoseeker.

Thought I'd let you know in case you wanna go post a thread in there with nice pictures and links etc.

I've posted things in some of their other empty forums and the views piled is as I'm guessing new threads are visible on some generic main forum page that thousands of people see.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Quest for Glory IV 3D (ZDoom Hexen mod)

Well it turns out I don't have to go find a PC Gamer US as I just opened up my PC Gamer UK (which I get every month) for February and there it is!! :)

I never thought I'd make that.. the mag I've been collecting since I was a boy.. they've even stuck in an extra picture! It's also the only one of the top 10 that is bigger than half a page and has more than 1 pic.. that's just crazy!!! :)

Still catching up on some recent PC Gamer magazines.  Blake00's QFGIV-3D was mentioned in the recent March 2017 / #289 issue (U.S. version).

Located on page 90 under their "Top 10 Downloads" section, it's #1:

HOLY S***! I nearly had a heart attack when my mod appeared in Rock Paper Shotgun back in Jan.. but now PC Gamer!!! Wow!

Thank you so much for letting me know! I've gotta try and get my hands on a copy! I normally get the UK PC gamer here in Aus but I do see the American one's occasionally in stores.

Is this the right one?

Happy new year guys! :) It's been a while but I've been working on my site and have made the following additions to the QFG related games list.

New QFG related projects added:
Quest For Glory IV 3D – Massive new section! My total conversion mod for ZDoom Hexen taking you on a 3D action packed adventure in Mordavia.
QFG6: Hero’s Legend – Full tribute page created! Creator of QFG2.5D is working on a 3D QFG sequel based in Silmaria & Tarna.
Quest for Glory I Extended Edition – Full tribute page created! QFG1 remake with many new areas (eg open mountain pass like in QFG4.5).

Changes made to existing QFG content:
General – Contents menu added.
General – All back buttons changed to utilise HTML bookmarks. Now users don’t have to re-scroll down the entire page constantly! :)
General – Fixed some missing slashes in code.
Heroism: The Art of DeFence – New HD screenshots and GREATLY enhanced demo now available.
Quest for 3D – New awesome screenshots of his amazing realistic recreation of Spielburg.
Destiny: The Lost Soul – FINALLY the long lost demo has been found & made available by the Hero6 team!
Quest for Infamy (classic) – Finally found the original Brigand theme song I used to use (forgot it was also hero selection track), now the original 2010 tribute page is finally truly restored.

As always, let me know if something is missing. :)

Oh and the other project I worked on isn't related to QFG or Sierra gaming but if there's any trekkies here they may enjoy it. I've been working on a Star Trek - The Next Generation Doom level where you fight against the Borg and Species 8472 which I'll be releasing in a few days too. Demo video here:

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Quest for Glory IV 3D (ZDoom Hexen mod)
« on: November 26, 2016, 03:38:48 AM »
Hi guys :)

I figured it was finally time to drop by and publicly announce my Quest for Glory IV 3D project. After years of tributing other peoples awesome QFG fan games at Blake's Sanctum I decided to have a go at making my own QFG fan game.

QFG4 3D is a total conversion single player 19 map mod for the classic game Hexen with the ZDoom enhancement. The mod contains new levels, textures, decoration, weapons, monsters, NPCs, cutscenes, music & sounds taking players on an old-school linear 3D action adventure set in the world and story of the great classic Sierra game Quest for Glory IV - Shadows of Darkness.

Before anyone else says it I'd like to say that QFG4 doesn't need to be in 3D, nor is my project an attempt to convert every single part of the game to 3D (if you want to do everything in QFG4 then go play QFG4 haha). I created QFG4 3D just for fun and to see if I could actually do it lol. Plus it was rather fun to create new areas/views not seen in the original game (eg I show more of the town & give you 360 degree views of each original game location). So if others happen to enjoy this project too then that's a bonus, but if you're not a fan of retro gaming & graphics then this probably isn't going to be of much interest to you.

I used the old Hexen/Doom engine as I lack the graphic & programming talents to use a modern game engine, plus I wanted it to retain the look at feel of the era when QFG4 came out. However the ZDoom/GZDoom extension updates the old engine quite a bit to use true 3D, OpenGL effects & now in 2016 it even supports VR! So if you ever wanted to walk around Mordavia as if you were there then this is your chance (at least until someone else does a much better job haha).

Hope you guys enjoy this first demo below. Be warned that it will likely be a long time before there's another demo, I've spent nearly 2 years on this & another project and have sacrificed a lot. I'm burnt out & want to do other things, including getting back to PLAYING games instead of making them lol!

For more information, more screenshots, animations+descriptions of all weapons & monsters you'll face, and of course the download links for the demo and required files check out my QFG4 3D website here:

Yeah I'm not sure why that weird old issue has come back to life lol. Nor am I sure how RPG vs adventure has anything to with inclusion and exclusion. It could a bloody flight sim for all I care, if you're flying over Speilburg & people are shooting arrows up at you then congrats you've made my list lol.

I put games of any type in the list that are related to or significantly influenced/inspired by QFG. That can apply to graphics and/or gameplay. Hero-U most definitely fits that definition. It just happened to be the Coles themselves that were inspired to make a game this time, instead of fans haha. Hell just play the Hero-U demo and it feels and looks like a scene straight out of QFG1 thief mode. I suspect we will lose count of the amount of 'hat tipping' and tributes to QFG stories, graphics, and locations in the final product despite the game being set in a different universe/world. And most importantly there are still too many QFG fans out there who don't even know the Coles are making a new game, I intend to help fix that!
