Yes - Project X was revealed to be "King's Quest: Kingdom Of Sorrow", though we had to put that one away, due to copyright/licensing rights.

You know, I may as well say something here - what was Kingdom of Sorrow will return in another form.

Yes, as BT says, to avoid cost-prohibitive licensing rights, pesky IP copyrights and just to keep lawyers away in general, "King's Quest: Kingdom of Sorrow" is now know by its totally different (and more alliterative) new title:

Monarch's Mission: Monarchville o' Misery

(They'll never see it coming!)

So, what you're saying is that in order to combat the lack of regular forum activity, BT simply needs to give everyone access to all of the development forums?...   ???

Sounds good to me!   ;D

Quest for Infamy / Re: Quest For Gory 4.5 inspired this?

I could be quite wrong, but if I recall reading about it, the game has more bugs than a bait store, and trying to get it working even using DOSBox is a nightmare...

Sorry I can't be of more help, as I've never had an interest in playing it myself.

Here are two videos from Blake --  The Intro (Part 1 of 2)

That's kind of cool.

I was wondering but, how do you play QFG 4.5?  I have no clue how to run it in dosbox or anything.

Our good friend Mr. Blake00 has everything you'd want to know about QFG4½ at Blake's Sanctum -- or at least everything worth knowing -- including how to set it up for play:

IQ Chat / Re: Bt eats Marmite to Prove His Love for QFI and IQ
« on: January 24, 2013, 04:13:38 PM »
I didn't survive.  What happened is the marmite actually killed who you knew as "Bt", and then went into replication mode - marmite is actually a mutagenic and biological copying substance that takes over it's host, and recreates it exactly as it was, except now I'm a little bit more salty.  You asshole.

Yep.  A vast collective of Mutagenic-And-Replicating Mites (M-A-R-Mite) now compose the decaying husk that once was BT.

And remaining true to its original host, this MARMite replication of BT will also be late in delivering QFI in a timely fashion...

Lamb's right.  This is game 1, Amigo.

That's one BIG gameworld to explore... and lots of terrific "hand-painted" backgrounds!   :)

Quest for Infamy / The big, blurry map...
« on: December 05, 2012, 09:11:46 PM »
Blackthorne:

In looking at the big, blurry map on the Facebook update... with the knowledge that close-ups and other screens are not represented here... will we be able to visit all 150+ rooms/screens as shown in the first game?

Or will we visit only a portion of the map in Game 1, expand into a few others areas in Game 2, Game 3, etc.?

Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Erik I've been reading the forum for a while and I just wanted to say how impressed I am with yourr work. I played your version of Kings Quest and Space Quests they were great! It is obvious to me that the team has the skills and the passion to make a great game. I could not contribute to your kickstarter. but I will plan on buying your game when it is out.

Great Job!! :)

Though you didn't specifically mention it, I hope you had a chance to play the initial KS Demo (which is terrific), found here:

...and the 2nd expanded Demo is expected sometime in the next month!

At last, the point in gaming history I've been waiting for!

Brainiac, I never realized you were such a BATTLEZONE fan!

Glad we finally got to 1980 for you, then...  Go Atari vector games!

...Granted, we apparently have one documented instance of someone finding this design confusing, but we also have documented instances of people thinking their CD-ROM drive was a cup holder and other people asking for a software fix for a power supply that was on fire, and those designs haven't been changed to make the reality clearer.

As the disk count began to increase for their games, Sierra began to write little bits of text to keep your interest while "disk #3 of 8" was installing, for instance; on one of those screens, didn't Sierra allege that someone called up their help line after removing the 5¼" magnetic media from its plastic sleeve upon being asked to insert the "disk" into the drive?...

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Politics: Rock the vote!!!
« on: October 20, 2012, 05:55:41 PM »
Your vote only counts if you live in one of the swing states.  ;)  Thank you, Electoral College.

And I've heard that if we went by popular vote and not the Electoral College, only 4 states -- the most populous -- would matter: California, New York, Florida and Texas.   ;)

At least ~12 states or so are important, Electorally speaking, IIRK from the discussions during the 2004 or  2008 election cycle...

Oh, let's be honest: in every modern election, the Electoral College gets dissed...

Really?  John Ro-fucking-mero is part of this company.  JOHN ROMERO.

Personally, I'm just waiting for the eventual Kickstarter for the sequel to "John Romero's Daikatana"...    :D

They had a KS to get an enhanced version of "Wings" out there, but it failed.

It's not surprising.  Could they have really afforded Thomas Hayden Church, now that he's a big movie star?

Still, it would have been cool to see Tim Daly and Steven Weber in High Def...   :-\
