Banter and Chit-Chat! / Distancing?

I haven't been kissing or hugging anyone.... I'm going out of my mind! Hey.... I wonder if cyber smootching works?
I remember a movie where Doris Roberts said she once tried cyber sex but she kept getting a busy signal!

Here's something from Carolyn Dean, MD, ND
Author of Atrial Fibrillation: Remineralize Your Heart

"The science shows that a diet without cholesterol does not necessarily lower a person's cholesterol. in fact, when the cholesterol in a food is high, it is often acting as an anti-oxidant. Eggs are a great food, full of satiating protein and essential fats."

Sometimes a few of us disregard our feelings about those around us. It took the passing of my father to make me realize what he really meant to me. Growing up he literally kicked my !donkey!, belted me, took a switch to the palm of my hand, yanked me around by my hair, etc. After he was gone, I could still hear him calling me during the night. Nobody can tell me it wasn't real!

Losing is gaining. Life is a test. Continuing on, reaps rewards later down the road. And if you can see the road ahead, it's not worth the trip.

Hang in there dear friend, your rewards are still to come.

Quest for Infamy / Some things about qfi that puzzles me
« on: March 21, 2015, 09:08:43 AM »
I've played through 1.1 and some things still the same. For instance, the following two things can get a reaction out of Roehm, but the voice says you can't do anything with it right now.

The hanging pot across from Rayford's office.
The well by Rayford's house.

At the old garden where the ruined fountain is, click on the bench and the voice says you open the chest and find 1000 blys.

Doesn't seem too safe around here since taking leave of the disharmony.

Been playing QFI 1.1 some and just don't find any added rooms for the characters other than the one for the brigand.

Has any gamer, not connected with QFI, found the rooms for rogue and sorcerer? I don't want to know how, just need confirmation that a typical gamer has seen all three rooms.

I'm in a similar predicament. Don't even have the original game anymore. Think I got it from gogg. But like nameless, think I just start over with another source that has QFI version 1.1.

Long time no posting here. Can't do anything except pray for you and your daughter. Come back only when you absolutely feel up to it.

I noticed the wing files are on my disk. A lot of work to install another prog, plus needing win 3.11, which oddly, still have combined all diskettes on an old cd. Way back when I still had an old system, win 3.11 was installed in just a few seconds. Unless I can get the game to install without extra progs, I'll probably just forget about. Strange there's such a big install hassle from no problems with DS1, to something most fowl with DS2.

Actually DS2 does run in my 32 bit XP, but at about half screen size due to not being able to run it at 640x480 256 color 8 bit. The game says it may not work properly, I just selected to continue anyway.

Before when I thought it didn't complete installing before freezing, it actually did install then the screen would freeze before the screens could close. So I closed them and ran the game. Game menu default is 320x200, so I set it to 640x480 for a bigger game screen, but it only fills about half the monitor. Otherwise, it seems to do just fine. It truly is a windows game and dosbox will not run it. So go figure, how many gamers could not do what I have done. Maybe it's a rare occurrence for my xp 32 bit  ::)

Now to continue with Darkseed II, I have the original cd when it was new to stores, possibly version 1.2 or so. Dosbox won't install it, says it's a windows game. XP starts to install it, it gets all the way and freezes where it tries to install VTVDM or something like that. Heck, I just know it would work in a dosbox if it was already installed and I could set it to run in win 7. wasn't there also a dos version? Why did some gamers have to have win 3.1, on a vertual drive, before it would install. Should be a modern installer somewhere like the ones Sierra has for their games.

Oh, by the way, here's what I got for furnishing proof of completing Comquests of Camelot way back when:

Don't know if this is right forum, but for the Dark Seed games; already had DS1 pre-installed and burned to a disk directory. Copied it to hd and it runs great in dosbox from win 7.

Darkseed 2 however, made for win 95, hangs on installation in XP 32 bit and it also tries to install vt something or other. I've seen posts that says win 3.1 in dosbox is needed.  :o

How to get it at least installed, then transferred same way as DS1 to win 7 and run from dosbox. Or is there someway to install it directly to win 7 64 bit. Dosbox won't do it, says windows is needed.
