Question about ingame highlights
« on: December 03, 2013, 09:45:13 AM »
Hello  :)

I played the demo and i loved it
I wanted to ask if you will make tags or highlights in the game?

For example when you hover your mouse on a tree or any object, person etc that it shows a textlabel like "Tree" "Bartender" etc. That's the only thing i kinda missed in the game.

It is something we discussed as it is one of those things some adventures have and some don't, but we won't be having it in QFI as we think the graphics are detailed enough to be able to visually see what something is (tree, house etc) and if you want more info then you can click the eye icon on it.

Glad you loved the demo!

Love the Amiga - truly a great computer system! Loved Cinemaware Games on it, like Rocket Ranger and Defender of the Crown!

I'm more of an Atari ST fan.  It's a shame the company went belly-up.  I loved that system.

Atari ST had better MIDI capabilities while the Amiga was great with sound and graphics for that time. AmigaDOS was a great OS, all embedded in a kickstart :) Its like having Windows in a BIOS chip  :D

I always was fascinated by NDOS amiga disks (custom bootloaders), its like you would load a game up on the PC and it would boot right up after the bios screen without windows (direct hardware calls).

PC at that time was still stuck with MS-DOS (Windows 3.11) and beeping pc speaker sounds :D

Amiga also had smooth scrolling at 50hz (no vsync and all that stuff we have today)..
ahh i can ramble endlessly about this system, it was a great computer. I also had the honour to meet RJ Mical last year in my country (He was the central developer of Amiga's Intuition user interface).

I came across this video recently.  Dude does a whole series on Amiga.  I don't know if he's trolling or not, but this video is mesmerizing.  Watch it. 17 times.  Like me.

I don't think the Amiga was very popular in the UK.

My dad worked for IBM.  We had the PCjr.  I loved that thing.  I never had the chance to see the old games on the amiga.

We didn't have Amigas, Commodores, PCjrs, or Apples when I was a kid. Everything was Tandy up until our first 486. We had a Tandy Color Computer 3 (TRS-80 equivalent that hooked up to the TV) which took cartridges, 5.25" floppies, and cassette tapes, and a Tandy 1000 after that. Loved the Tandy 3-voice/PCjr/SMS sound system. Wish I could have played around with all the different flavours of computers back then, though!

Bt

The ZX Spectrum was the more popular computer in the UK at that time. I remember my Dad had one though I was too young to really appreciate it. There was the BBC Microsystem as well, but that was more for snobs.
