Heh, I don't worry about it too much.  But I am sad that we are past the enthusiasm of the adventure game revival.  I honestly wish it worked out better for everyone.

Boy, I feel kind of bad about the ole adventure games scene - I mean, there seems to be little chatter about Mage's or many other adventure games (besides Wadjeteye's games) on forums or even social media.  Even in usual chatty places, it's been silent for a while.

I mean, it's no surprise, but it really makes me feel like our scene is dying the death many have said it was for years!

Yeah, you got it, Roehm was out for long enough that the party ended and the decorations at the gate were removed.

The greatest sequel ever is "Die Hard".

Probably not.  But, you never know.  I guess I'll see how it goes in the recording phase.  And then when I get to finishing QFI v2.0.

Heh.  I wish that like 100,00 more people had your enthusiasm for our stuff, man!

I've really enjoyed Mage's Initiation so far.  I haven't beaten it yet, and I'm totally playing it old school style - a chunk at a time! It's nice to play a QFG-like that I didn't make! It's sad that it takes so long to make these kinds of games, and the budgets we have to work with!

The cutscenes..... they definitely clash with the art design of the game, and honestly - they should have been cut.  A decision should have been made at the executive level.  The clash in art design between the animated scenes and the rest of the game is SO disruptive... Akril did a fine job with them, but it just doesn't fit.  I know how it is, too, holding on to something because so much work as been done, but sometimes you have to throw it all out and start over.  But other than that, Mage's is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful game.  I really do get sad that all of us adventure game makers can't just crank these games out in 9 months-a year.  I'd love it if we could sell enough to do that. Unfortunately, the market just doesn't support it.

This is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about my game, and it really amazing to read something like that.  I know that a lot of people put a lot of love and talent into QFI, and I know how much life, blood, sweat and tears I put into the game.  It's nice to know it has connected with someone the way it has with you, Athanasius. Thank you so much, really.

Yeah, we're wrapping up... hopefully.  I just released another beta to be gone through.  Goatmeal's right; I want to record voices in Jan/Feb 2019, and get them in. Test that, make sure it works.  Then somehow get this out there.

Mage's Initiation is coming to GOG!

Good, there's no reason it shouldn't be on GoG.

Heh, you know, I have yet to see this Pirates movie.  I gotta get on that.

Getting replies on the forum is tough; I've tried to write more here, but even I lapse in that.

Favorite Movie Scenes?

Man, I could probably list 1000.... anytime except for now.  I'm totally drawing a blank right now.  I know I'll think of 8 when I'm not on the internet....

EDIT:

Okay, totally - the film? Alien (1979 - Ridley Scott)

When they first go down to the surface of LV-426 and see The Derelict Spacecraft.  That thing has haunted my dreams for decades.  Even then they tried to "explain" in in Prometheus, I'm still intrigued by what I saw and knew nothing about in Alien.  And going further, when they first find the "Space Jockey".  Amazing.

I love Pac Man. I'll still pump quarters into the old cocktail version of it sitting in the corner of an ancient Pizza Hut!!

Hah, I didn't realize you made the mock up.  I know somebody actually DID go back and make an alternate Pac Man using the 2600 hardware.  It's more like the arcade.

Hah, that's not even the version of Pac Man we all grew up with on the 2600.  It was like this - the maze was different than the arcade version; the "tunnels" were on the top and bottom, instead of the sides!
