Quest for Infamy / Re: Anyone figure out how to beat Bt?
« on: August 06, 2014, 06:08:08 PM »
clues: thus far that ive weeded out of the thread please add if I missed or misrepresented any
and please if you do find the bar and bt DONT POST IT, just post to the devs so they know ya found it but keep it a secret if you would pls! this is really fun!

1/ plain sight not hidden,
could be very obvious that people miss it if they dont PAY ATTENTION?

2/ not something you can click on multiple times
3/ multiple steps involving multiple days that can be missed
4/ It would be a grave mistake
.. hmm gravestones or yard? "told you it wasnt a rash lol"

5/ Bt likes you to pay attention;
... paying literally? bly? or maybe it just means to read or examine something like the book at the cemetery house .. I think PAY is the key word 50 bly for my coffin sealed pls!

6/ give credit where credit is due.
this one is cryptic, hmm... either one again must pay or one must stroke the ego of someone in the game.. hmmmm

7/Bt also likes numbers and he likes fire.
Numbers.. hmm, thinking.. pie? ..
fire? well the fireplace in the pub looks like you COULD pour water on it, havent figured out how.. not sure what numbers mean ..yet

8/ Be patient and be hydrated.
hints at a water trigger, or at least something that might have to do with a timer or time of day
or maybe drowning or some desert path (I want to drench myself in water and run into the fireplace, stop drop and roll?

9/ There are 5 things that must be done.
2 of which happen at a certain point in the game.
You cannot get there prior to act 2,
but 1 thing must be done before then.

ack this indeed means it can be missed, so save in day 1, no clue what must be done but if its in the prologue day 1, most wont find it as that day zooms by
and how are we to know if we found something before act 2 so that we can get the trigger in act 2!
hehe oooo im so going to find this one day

10/ One more thing, watch the intro to the game. you will be quite relieved if you do.
a hint other than the poster in the intro? something that might tell ya a hint.. hmm

11/ its rumored to be like sq2's IA bar,
if you know how to see that... well death or something like it might be a solution to finding the bar and bt

new additional hints :P
12/ Bt likes you to give your full attention, if that helps.

13/ He likes numbers and fire, but not together.

well thats the short list!
haha seems IS has given us MANY o hints
soo keep searching my fellow fans!

yea time is hard to come by for some,
again I lost my "free time" when my girl was a certain age, now that she is 14 .. well she runs her own life almost now lol

but if sitting and maxing my stats afternoon day 1 before being on ANY path, isnt putting effort in lol
no clue what is haha

i mean you cant max some stats as you cant unlock them yet, but combat.. wow
spent now 6+ hours getting back my max stats after the blood head blunder bug..
I hope to help if there is a next beta or demo, im one of the people that play those as a tester to TRY to break or find the bugs its kinda.. not really enjoyable that way.. but its how you get the game to work better lol
not just .. play and done, but try everything on everyone and thing,
fun stuffs

fizzii again I cant say how much this team, (... and ive ran into MANY o teams) is just awesome
could the game have been tested better, sure but like I posted before, no matter how much you test, bugs will arise, usually...
I mean who the hell does some of the things that break the game lol
oh yea people like well me and other fellow testers haha

waves fist at the head on the spike give me your Blooooooooood

btw is there a cap I should reach for block, seems it MIGHT go to 200.. where the rest I believe are only 100
someone posted they hacked their save(which ive not, personally I have done 800 battles before day 1 night just to get cash for chain-mail and all goodies and im not using the loot restore loophole)
but someone edited their save to 200 max on stats and it crashed,
just wondering why block would go above 100.. much-less to 200, shrug

In contrast, im from so cal , san diego actually. born and raised. so being up here in sacramento or even the bay is not really nice for me,
i prefer off the grid beach life!
Its so free and relaxing to have almost NO worries, no texts no calls no emails, just the world and its awesome waves n beauty .. ahh
and of course comic con lol but thats a double edged hell blade o fury
but I digress greatly :P

Quest for Infamy / Re: few starter bugs (disregard if already known)
« on: August 05, 2014, 04:17:59 PM »
I think we've got most of those already.

Regarding not being able to walk around after exiting combat--that's a new one I've not heard before. Is that something where you either have to restore a game or warp out by map in order to resume normal gameplay? If you get it to happen again, can you save the game in that moment and post it? It'd help us figure out the issue.

here I made a vid with 3 issues
2 minor 1 big
NOTE: sorry the battle is long just fast forward(I wanted to make sure you saw how the battle started and ended for the full detail on the issue)

http://youtu.be/dXDCjcq3_mw

1st bug is just a fireplace that isnt lit, saying its warm, does this no matter what(lit or not)

2nd bug is the cemetery house walking through the SE wall and appearing in the chapel

3rd is the game ending bug, must restore,
this happens if you attack any enemy with your sword before they see you, and you lose the battle, you cant move at all and if you dont have a pill or the map, you must restore

4th is not in the video but its about that damned head not letting you cut it and killing the game for anyone who cut the head but forgot to get the mug and blood thinking you could just cut it again as it says to do.. but you cannot...
plaaayyytesters should have spotted all these justtt sayin :P

I don't dislike Telltale itself as a rule or anything, but their recent ultra-linear direction (basically everything since Back to the Future) just doesn't do it for me as a gamer. And it REALLY rubbed me the wrong way when you had people like Dan Connors and Dave Grossman going around doing interviews and suggesting that making adventure games more linear and removing puzzles (or even the ability to walk around, which was something they were touting as a major game design breakthrough at one point) was somehow "fixing" the longstanding flaws of adventure games. ::)

Tales of Monkey Island was the last truly satisfying Telltale game, in my opinion.

yea thats because almost 100% of the original crew left to start their own companies :(
and I agree with you to a point,
walking dead ep 1 was decent, then just dropped off like turd buckets,
its nice to have seen how far that interface came and where its going, i AM looking forward to borderlands but if its like a wolf among us.. well.. yea
I think they have a 30min-1hr per ep play time max, and thats droll

but its neat to know they all came from mark and Jurassic park (the first game to use the interacive duck dodge etc interface )

Well, we weren't trying to be an exact QFG clone - so Boss Battles were something we came up with early on; that's probably an influence from my love of Arcade games and RPGS like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger. In the future, though, I'll definitely keep an eye towards having alternate scenarios/showdowns with characters. I have some more interesting ideas for Sorcerors and Rogues in such situations, and if we get to do QFI 2, I'd definitely say plan on seeing more of that.

Bt
oooo chrono trigger

whips out ps emulator and real copy... hells yeaaaa
loovee that game
