Banter and Chit-Chat! / Survival or Things we Take for Granted
« on: November 30, 2018, 01:04:19 PM »
   Hi all.

Here is a little essay on things we take for granted. Every day i get up, I turn on my coffee maker, then i get in the shower.  What if one day I got up and there was so electricity? No running water? No natural gas to heat my house. I could'nt go to the store to buy groceries, gasoline for the car, etc.  Think about it. All we take for granted. No power means no fresh clean water, no sewage removal, no heat, no food, no medicine for illness. In a NY minute we would revert to a Agriculture society over-night as it was 200 years ago.  Suddenly people would deforest the woods to burn for heat and light. Clean water that's something we really take for granted, yet 2,000,000,000 today don't have it. Basic social norms disappear. It would be law of the jungle. People would kill for a loaf of bread, a gallon of gasoline, medicine, or just about anything. Yes there have been many books, tv shows, about movies about what i'm talking about.
My question is this: Are you prepared for the above? Myself, I know how to hunt, fish, start a fire without the use of a lighter or matches. I can build a structure to keep me out if the elements. I know basic first-aid. I can Survive for awhile at least.  I used to laugh at the shows on tv about "Dooms-Day preppers." However I know some folks that have years of supplies put-away, that have self-contained bunkers, stocked with supplies/guns.  In a minute like in the movies we could be hit with a virus that kills off 99.9% of the human race. or plants, animals, or some kind of eco-disaster.
Now I;m not trying to frighten anyone, but it makes me wonder why in this country (USA) we spend billions on weight-loss supplements, entertainment, military, and not on infrastructure, Space Exploration, renewable energy etc. What happends when the last drop of Oil is pumped from the ground, or coal dug from the earth?  I'm pretty sure that the Earth will survive us as humans, as it's been around for 4.5 billion years. Is it human arrogance to think that we can actually end all life on this planet? We have only been here for a fraction of time. Yeah, im sure the Earth will be here long after we go the way of the Dinosaurs....Chadly. 8)

The point is that I am happy for the small things I have: my health, the health of my family, that I have food, a place to reside, etc.  I used to get pissed that I couldn't go on vacation to the beach, buy a sports car, buy some trivial things. The older I get the more Thankful I am for simple things.

Ok. That's good to know. It be nice if they posted that. I feel terrible what nasty backers have said about the project and the Two Guys. Plus it;s just Fucking terrible to tear down a man who has had personal problems/cancer.  I just want the game to be good and come out. And I wish Scott all best in his fight with prostate cancer,  Chadly.

Hey all.

Anybody else wondering when and if this game is coming out. This game is nearly 7 years in the making, and im wondering if it will be all that was promised.  I loved the Space Quest games by Sierra and Scott Murphy/Mark Crowe a.k.a. The Two guys from Andromeda.  While this game isn't Space Quest 7, it is I feel the Spiritual Successor.  Over on their Kickstarter page comments from backers have gotten REally Nasty. Here are some of my thoughts: 1) What was Scott Murphy's involvement? Did he write the story and dialog? He has been absent from any updates for years. Apparently the poor guy has major health issues. 2)Updates are few and don't say much. 3) some backers are so frustrated that they are now rooting for this game to fail, sadly. Me I just want the game to be released.  Any thoughts??                       Chadly. :) 8)

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Old classic Sierra Games.
« on: November 22, 2018, 01:25:02 PM »
Hi all. Hey if anyone is interested i have a bunch old old sierra games. (including boxes, manuals and disks.) I am house cleaning and figured if anyone was interested I Will Give them to You. I only ask for shipping costs. I'd rather give them to a collector them throw them in a landfill, or burn them. If interested give me a DM, for more details. Thanks Chadly.

                                                                                                                    P.S.
Yes I could attempt to sell them on
ebay, but don't feel like it.

Quest for Infamy / Bt (Steve's) Kidney Failure
« on: October 17, 2018, 02:56:01 AM »
New Post here folk,

Well in the last few days Steven Alexander aka BT has took a turned for the worst.   I could tell you ALL VERBATIM BUT THAT IS REDUNDANT. Steve is Dying of Kidney Failure. No cure, and he won't take his wife's kidney for backup. Now I am a nobody, but healthy I could give him one of mine, I just don't think he take it, being the guy he is. Which makes me mad. (I am healthy, have no kids, or wife, shit i can live lots with only one kidney~) Less beer which makes my mother happy??  Friends, please for the love of Christ, God, Allah, or whatever you believe, in help Steve and Jordan, @ www.gofundme.com/steves-kidney-journey. These are wonderful and great people. Please help!  Thank-You!

And Goat, I fell for it, like a dumb ass.  I remember laughing about it, (after being pissed at you). It was a good story/joke.  :) 8) *****After years of being anonymous; like the Sig, I proudly present pic of myself. Damn, it looked better when I took it on my S8.******* LOL.

Hi.

Hey SpaceVenture by the guys who made the Space Quest Games just released a big update on their new game. It's finally in Alpha with Voice Actors cast and recording now. I'm excited for this one to release as it's been 6 years in dev. Hopefully it's as good as Hero U by the Coles, that released a couple of weeks ago! :) 8) They hope for release by Xmas.

Yup, you guys have awesome fans, like me and Goatmeal, and all the rest who still post here. Id like to see Fortress of Fire done, but with Bt health, that is unlikely in the near future. However what about Roehm to Ruin? That's almost complete?

@Klytos When remaking SQ2 how did you get away with all the revisions on the Asteroid, without fear of a lawsuit from owners of the I.P.? As I recall there is quite a bit of original work done to the game. (Vine monster, hidden bar, Asteroid, etc).

Hi all.

I  as a unexperienced game creator, wonder at the process?  You guys have created games for years now.
i.E. ( SQ2 remake, KQ3 remake, QFI, and Order of the Thorne. All have been a success,
in my eyes if not a money/profit wise. You have all worked hard to create something unique an special. Will Roehm to Ruin to be released soon, (I hope) will this be the last hurrah for IQ? Fortress of fire??  It's bums me out that QFI and others didn't make you all any cash.  QFI is and will be the Spiritual continuation to Quest fo Glory....Only better and more snarky......Chadly

HI all.

I think we can all agree that SOME PEOPLE are just unappreciative assholes. Hey if you sent me that stuff i would treasure it and put it with all my other Game memorbilia. Selling the shit om ebay for money is just too Low! Assholes!

                                                                                                                           P.S.
Also being a dick on KS comments and
legal threats to sue the creators over rewards is just awful.
