IQ Chat / Re: SQ2 VGA - SQ1 Corridor Easter Egg
« on: November 30, 2016, 01:35:11 AM »
Folks lets face it facebook an twitter, or any social media site is a pain in the ass.  I am I'm one of a few billion who don't subscribe to facebook.  My friends and family call me on the phone, (imagine that!) write real letters, (even real unthinkable in this digital age.), or email me.  From what I have seen those on social media get lots of friend requests from people they don't know and a Shitload of advertisements sadly.:(    This isn't a rant against social media, but lets face it we get less personal communication every day.    Chadly.

@Blake00 awesome work on both remakes. Can't wait to play them, but doom style is a bit dated for the kids. For us it's awesome. Keep up the good work guy.

Well ok. the bloody election is over and by all accounts a stunning victory for "The Donald" aka ego man.  Shit man I seen folks post doom and gloom already.  Hell there are just pissed that their candidate, sponsor, or friend didn't win. Frankly who gives a flying fuck?  Now I do as I want my country to be strong and stand for the ideals that it was founded on, however folks I'm not a multi millionaire, or a CEO of a billion dollar Corporation, what can 'ol Chadly do to effect change?  Nothing but vote which I did.  Lets just see how the cards turn up and not judge on our perconceptions.  Lets give ol Don a Chance.  He might suck or he might be great....Who knows......yet......Chadly

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Are we slaves to the Net
« on: November 06, 2016, 04:13:08 AM »
As titled are we slaves to the Internet? Hell I pay bills, shop, play games, and talk to family and friends on the net.  Yet the world seems smaller not bigger. I used to call on the phone or write letters. (Remember that?) Don't get me wrong I love technology and the digital age, but it seems like we are becoming too used to shooting an email or txt to somebody than taking the time to connect in a more personal way. I don't won't to sound like my folks or grandmother, but hell I spend way too much online personally  and professionally nowadays, sadly.

Switching gears here.  I own a UHD tv, for which I can get little to no programing for until jan feb?  I went to a local Electronics store and saw a NEw Samsung SUHD tv 8000k res. Awesome, but pointless right now.   As I type this I am using an UHD monitor that my graphics card doesn't come close to pushing to its limits.  All this shit going on right now makes me want to scream, and that's not including the upcoming election!!!!!!! :( :-[ :P Chadly

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Vacations:
« on: October 24, 2016, 05:45:09 PM »
Vacations.  Have any memorable ones from when you were a kid, or as an adult?  I was fortunate growing up to take some awesome family vacations.  Here's some of my favorite ones.  As a kid we went skiing in Stowe Vermont, as well as to the Beach on the Outer Banks of NC.  I remember going to FL to Disney World and Daytona Beach.  But the best one we ever took was when I was 18, we flew to CA rented a van and drove some 2000 miles, to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, San Diego, LA, and San Francisco.  Walking the Strip in Vegas was cool, as was driving up highway 1 in CA.  Three weeks total trip time in the summer of '96.  Chadly. 8)

Quest for Infamy / Kickstarter Hits and Misses.
« on: September 05, 2016, 04:25:51 PM »
Since the advent of the Kickstarter craze, I have seen some wonderful Projects.  I could list them but the ones that stand out speak for themselves.  The majority of projects I have supported with my money have turned out well.  However some have not.  Kickstarters are a gamble to say the least.  The creators look to the masses to fund their project.  As backers we have no idea what the individual, or individuals come from, only that they have a cool idea and need our money to make a dream a reality.  From the actual product to the KS rewards, we take a chance, that the end product might just suck, be awesome, or not get finished at all.  Point in case I supported a KS that took in as much money as Quest for infamy.  Sadly the designer didn't have the design skills, financial wherewithal or managerial skills to make the project come to completion.  He spent the backers money on a house in the Midwest, and the project died.  So im out a 100 bucks, which sucks.  I haven't supported any KS lately.  Some I have, and im still waiting for, (SpaceVenture/Hero U).  At the very least I KNOW that the folks who RUN Infamous Quests are reliable and keep their promises.  I can only hope the future is a bright one for those here.  IF not its been a great run.  Thank you all.:)   Chadly.

Folks, I implore you to be patient and show some understanding for Blackthorne's current situation. He is the only one who is shipping out rewards. Also he has a newborn baby to take care of. On top of that he is working on Roehm to Ruin and Fortress of Fire. Also I'm sure he has other responsibilities that we as backers know nothing about. I'm sure he is as frustrated as some of the backers are.  For myself, I'm content to be patient, and I'd ask all of you to be patient too:)

@Kaldire  Sorry to hear about your dad's passing.  Sadly death is apart of life unfortunately.  I seen my fair share in my own family.  Wow as to your dad's other woman showing up at the funeral, that takes big balls to do so.  hugs brother.:)  Chadly....

Another great show us Halt and Catch Fire on Amc. It's basically a story about the early 80's computer wars. Jobs and Woz, etc. Its awesome for those folks who remember those days. Great story. Check it out.

Klytos,
I would very much like to read that story of why Order if the Thorne, was a failure, (which to me it wasn't, as it was unique in it musical attributes,)  Finances, aside you ALL have accomplished much here at IQ.  Great old school adventures, and great story telling.  Guys I grew up playing the classics or Sierra and lucas Arts.  I miss those games very much, but all good things come to an end as things evolve.  As I said before todays games are, violent graphic, first-person shooters and im bored with them, so I sold my consoles.  Yeah I like some of todays games, but I guess im living too much in the past.  30 years ago I got a pc and played txt adventures.  Those days are gone. I had hoped with IQ that we or you good revamp interest in these types if games, and you did just not enough money to continue.  Cheers,
                                                                      Chadly.

I am a regular poster here at IQ, I have enjoyed every game that you folks have produced, and will enjoy roehm to ruin and Fortress of Fire.  Yeah it sucks that you most likely won't make any more games, but people have to make money at their endeavors unless they are independently weathly.  I for my part have supported all your games via kickstarter, plus bought a nice Qfi tshirt, bought multiple copies of Qfi for friends and will buy fortress of fire when released.  Look guys if I had a 100,000, k to give you to make Qfi2 I would. Thank-you all for all your efforts.
