Quest for Infamy / Irony
« on: July 20, 2014, 02:03:47 AM »
hold on, when you click your sword on things the voiceover often complains about you only wanting to 'kill, pillage and destroy' but isn't that the way to get the more infamy points.  Its not a plot on behalf of the voiceover guy to stop you being even more infamous is it?

Quest for Infamy / is this a bug or a feature
« on: July 19, 2014, 04:43:17 AM »
I noticed a few small bugs where Roehm will start doing circles on both the screen before going into the thieves guild (other side of door) and where there are stones in the river that you can cross.  I can usually break out of this by clicking somewhere though.
Another oddity is I can get my magic skill above 100, I thought skills were capped at 100 for your class, or 50 for not your class. well except for infamy anyway.

Quest for Infamy / save me
« on: July 15, 2014, 04:22:21 AM »
just saved the game after getting to the graveyard as a thief for the first time, quit then when I restart the game there's no save games anywhere to restore.

edit
saves seem to be working now, just not the first time I played.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Adventuring Class
« on: January 19, 2014, 11:11:15 PM »
I may have been working too hard lately, or not enough but recent adventures with some games (ok mostly one game) have gotten me thinking (don't bother running, I locked the doors) about multi classing or as I like to call it the solitary adventurer class.

now I know there's purists that think, I'm a fighter I should bash down the door, I'm a magic user lets try a spell, or hey locks were made to be picked (thief).  but I've been wondering is it so practical for a solitary adventurer to only know one profession to the exclusion of all others.

This tactic might be fine if you've got a party of adventurers each with different skills but could leave the solitary adventurer (whom some call hero or even heroine) up the creek without the ability to sneak.

now I'm not saying you should know everything, but isn't knowing as much as you can cram in that tiny little head (well tiny til you get called hero a few dozen times anyway).  or in the case of QFI isn't knowing as much as possible going to make it easier to a fast one on the NPC before they can unleash their vicious war unicorns upon you (or worse).

IQ Chat / An Unexpected aproach
« on: March 25, 2013, 08:24:54 PM »
Just playing QFG 1 this morning and was suddenly caught by a random thought due to a message, what would happen if I really could open the ogre?

Only came around due to it telling me that I wouldn't want to do that, so of course I now do.  I was originally aiming for the chest that the ogre was carrying, not the orges chest (ok so it is the ogres chest, just not that one).

Has anybody else wondered things like this, using supposedly non offencive spells offensivly, or other things unusally. It was thought of and implimented with at least one thing when you were given the opertunity to pick (at least in VGA) something other than a lock.

IQ Chat / technical difficulties

I keep getting a this has timed out message when I click to post. its happened four times today.

Your request timed out. Please retry the request.

I'm typing then posting and the message is coming up in seconds, not long to time out if you ask me.  I can mostly fix the problem by hitting the back button and trying again, but that doesn't always work either.
