Banter and Chit-Chat! / Rob Paulsen and Voice Acting
« on: February 24, 2013, 05:25:01 PM »
Let me tell you - from what I've seen, it's actually really cool.  I'm rather psyched about it.  I feel like it's almost a companion piece to QFI - QFI is more about playing as a scoundrel/thief, and Mage's is an adventure for Magic users.  Now I think we have to have another game about a Barbarian and we're all set!

Bt

Haha like a "Quest for Savagery"? How about a game where you go to different towns, looting, pillaging, and burning everything in your path? Where its possible to kill NPC's. How about a pirate game... the anti-Monkey Island. You could call it "Cutthroat".

While I got your attention Bt, do you guys need any help with voice acting? Maybe just a few lines for a minor character. I'm not looking to get paid, just trying to see if I have any potential as a voice actor. Someone once told me that I should look into it.

Voice acting would be a really cool job. Rob Paulsen (who is basically the voice of my childhood) is one of the most awesome persons to have ever lived.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Simon the Sorcerer
« on: November 03, 2012, 05:08:39 PM »
This is just a random post to say that I only started this game today. I've known of it for years, but today is the first time I have ever played it and so far, I wonder why I never tried it before. The humour is classic Point and Click adventure style ("When I move my mouse pointer over you, it says wizards") and I look forward to see what puzzles await me.

Just wanted to say that

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Cameos in Video Games
« on: August 20, 2012, 12:22:51 PM »
I was going to have this thread be as a question to the development team on whether we can expect any cameo's in Quest for Infamy, be they other adventure game heroes or famous tv shows/books/etc characters. But then I realised that they would not answer that since the whole point of a cameo is that we are surprised when it appears.

So instead, how about this be what is some of your favourite cameos in games (doesn't have to be limited to adventure games)? At the moment for me, I can only think of two. In the Wolverine Origin's game, I remember coming across the hatch from Lost and Frostmore, which was really cool. And though I cannot remember where, I do remember seeing the TARDIS in an adventure game.

So what about you lot?

Quest for Infamy / Mythical Creatures
« on: July 22, 2012, 02:42:11 PM »
In case you don't follow them on twitter (and your only excuse is that you do not have a twitter account), a recent topic the Quest for Infamy team had was, if you could battle any mythical creature in the game, what would it be and why?

Personally, I always liked the Manticore, a creature with the head of a man, body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion. And considering it has the head of a man, it would be interesting to have it be a character in the game (with his body covered with a robe or something) that you could talk to and maybe do quests for, only for it to be revealed later on that he is a monster you have to kill.

I also would love to see something Norse related in this game, but the only monsters I could think of from Norse Mythology are the various giants and the children of Loki

So what was the first Point and Click Adventure Game you ever played and how old were you when you played it.

For me, I was 18 (I know, started late), and it was Curse of Monkey Island. Whilst I did play the old school text based adventure games when I was really young, the first real point and click was the third Monkey Island game. A friend in college introduced me to it, I brought it that weekend and completed it and then tried to find other ones.

Banter and Chit-Chat! / Other Kickstarter Projects
« on: July 11, 2012, 04:35:11 PM »

Just hijacking this thread for a moment, I'll return you to Lupin's initial post shortly. If you want find the latest in Kickstarter projects, news and other exciting happenings in the community then head over to Kickstart Ventures. This was a joint venture set up by Broomie and Blackthorne of IQ. Kickstart Ventures is a blog that focuses on crowded funded games a long with other features such as interviews, reviews and guest articles.

Thanks, now back to Lupin! - Broomie

Not sure if this topic will be allowed (if it isn't, feel free to delete mods), but considering how successful Quest for Infamy was on Kickstarter, why not have a thread for members to promote other Kickstarter campaigns that we feel deserve our attention. Whether it is cos the project is really cool or (more likely) because it is in danger of not achieving its target.

I'll start us off with the above one. Another great Point and Click Adventure game where the protagonist is not entirely on the good side. Whist it has achieved it's target goal, there is additional content that will be made if we can up the amount, and considering that we achieved $10,000 in just 48 hours, I think we can all help out here.

This is one I really hope makes it. At the time of this post, it has 15 days left and it is $2,000 short of reaching it's goal, but it is a Steampunk themed Alphabet Book. As we know, anything Steampunk related is fantastic. So for this guy to create an ABC book around it is just great and the best part, not just for lil kids, you can read it as a normal book. Would love to have this just to read to my niece/nephew when they are old enough
