Quest for Infamy / Re: Re: Revisiting the five steps to BT

Yes. Wish I could smack Roehm for saying that. So, if I keep going I'm bound to hit the sweet spot? What if I wait long enough till getting no response, then working backwards?

Getting the 'so close yet so far away' at 3 minutes beyond 18 minute save. So, I'll up it some more....

OK!!! At 4 minutes beyond my 18 minute save. This is at the default speed setting which is near half way. Which brings to mind one of the clues "Be Patient" Strange, only Blackthorne's voice has sound.

Final note, each reload increases the time I have to wait. After first bar, the next wait at same time fails. The next after that, had to wait an extra minute. So it appears each attempt wait time increases by 30 seconds.
By saying OK!! I meant that I finally got into the bar by simply waiting longer at each attempt. I've since played another character and was successful again. I'm presently on the third character and am confident to find the bar yet again.

It appears that the default game speed is half way. Just redid everything up till saving outside the library. will continue on tomorrow and see.

I went back to be sure when the quest starts. I could get the quest the first morning after Act Two had started. Just imagine things I've missed that will be revealed in the official companion. Things like actually getting a kiss from Kayanna, her mentioning Roehm's cod piece, etc.

Everything went fine from the Crypt onwards. As a Brigand I found the secret room and ate some cake!
I really appreciate you all making the Slaver quest so much harder >:(
Fortunately saved before going in the doorway. Had to try several times there and inside.
Discovered the Space Bar turns hotspots on and off. When on, certain movements are only done by arrow keys.
Minor issues in dwarf mines still there (turning around in scaffold room and one room with a barrel near the door.

Oh yea, I kept getting caught by a guard when breaking into Brattles cabin. That difficulty too was added I guess.

Now I'm on the way with the Rogue. Wonder where his secret room is.  ???

After thought; now it's not really broken, so why try to fix it? All in all, I give it a high upper 90's.

Here it is another day. Cleaned out registry and defragged the hd.  Replayed as Brigand again and it too now is flawless.

When trying to enter Brattle's cabin at night, no guards outside of town, I still get caught by a guard!!??

I even tried copying the font to my word processor. Looks pretty good.

Been playing QFI 1.1 for a couple of days. I really liked the addition of the adventurer in the hotel that can teach a little about fighting.

BT mentioned the addition of 2 or 3 new rooms. Wonder what general area those are in and are they related to a particular character class?

I'm waiting for 1.1 today?

Anyhow, here's my tu sense:

The two most common ones are abstemious 'indulging only moderately in food and drink', and facetious 'treating serious issues with inappropriate humour'. Oxford Dictionaries Online also contains the chemical term arsenious 'relating to arsenic with a valency of three', while the 20-volume historical Oxford English Dictionary includes abstentious 'abstinent' as well as the rare botanical and zoological terms acheilous 'having one or both lips absent', anemious 'growing in windy situations', caesious 'bluish or greyish green', and annelidous 'belonging to the phylum Annelida'.

The XMas holiday has passed with only two very unappealing postings. The pink santa's bag was way over the limit. It's amazing what minor things that weren't allowed on QFI and was erased. Are the latest postings staying put?

If I remember correctly, it was mentioned that the QFI update would likely be released this month. 6 days to go!

Hope you all ate too much. I reached the earth shattering burp on two different days.

I want to do it because it can be done. When something is doable, I too want to do it or at least die trying. Well, no literally. It's just not right that just a few people can do it. I once told my older brother that I was planning on rebuilding an automatic transmission. He laughed at me and said there's no way I could do it. With Chilton's repair manual and another used transmission for parts, I was successful. The rebuilt transmission worked better than it did when the car was first purchased. To top it off, I also rebuilt the transmission's valve body and had no parts left over.

I've watched videos of the SOS being drawn. Only thing is, the gamer was using the console version of the game. Forgive me, but I don't think the PC version allows drawing the secret spells. I've been successful with most of the regular rune spells. If nobody wants to share their PC save with maps completely uncovered, either it can't be done on the PC, or hm... I don't know what to think.

Any how, everyone have a good holiday and a bounty of fortunes in the coming year.

Oh, by the way, the video of the gamer drawing the secret cheats, they first drew the MAX (not a very good M) cheat, then drew the SOS cheat. Surely to goodness MAX is not required before SOS, which I cannot accomplish.

There's likely sources for about anything you want or need. Everyone might not want those from a quick way of sharing. But you never know.

Hey Hey , ok guy, hope you're doing ok.

The hunger thing has me stymied also. First thought something was wrong with my GOG copy. After installing the original 1.0 disk, updating to 1.21, then installing Libertatis, it started out ok, but along in the game it gradually started the starvation routine. Surely it couldn't be the special armor from the chair cheat that's causing an incessant appetite. Maybe if I used the leather or what ever it is armor from the chair cheat, or wait till later when it's found anyway. Hang in there dude.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit. Today I allowed windows to update. All of a sudden, I couldn't connect to the internet because a message said I had limited access??? Uninstalled todays updates, rebooted, now everything is just fine. I don't think I'll accept any more updates, ever, except for anti virus updates.
