Humble Store Mac version not launching

It did launch initially, the first two times I ran it.  Now, all it does is make my screen go dark, change resolutions, and then dump me back to the finder.  One time it threw an error code -600, but usually it gives no error message whatsoever.  The application says it's version 1.0, but I don't see any way to get a patch.

I'm running OSX 10.9.5.  Any help would be appreciated.

or same  dark with -600 error code but no message?

Nope, nothing at all.  Screen goes dark, resolution changes, I get dropped back to the finder.  The -600 error code happened once, but all other times there is absolutely no error message.

I've contacted the support staff at Humble Store and they were able to reproduce the problem but haven't come back with any other information.

idk,

is the mac version not updated BT?
I have a friend who has the game from a humble bundle on pc, but it works just fine, and it updates fine via steam

The DRM-free version is definitely 1.0.  The steam key that came with it gives me errors when I try to redeem it; I get as far as starting the installation before it gives me an error and says "invalid platform."  Further attempts to redeem the key tell me I already own Quest for Infamy (continuing on to the invalid platform error), but it doesn't show up in my Steam library.

is the steam key for mac os or pc?

odd, should work though, has for others, though, drm free or not idk
drm free should work, but id not like the first ver, its not complete and not worth a play vs the update!
update is aweeesome

I know you will get it working, if not lemme know ill see if i can find a steam mac key for QFI
that way it can update,  i love drm free stuff too but if its not updated, its kinda bad

There's no Mac Port for Steam yet - we can't get the Steam API to work with the Mac version we currently have, and we don't have anyone to develop/work on the AGS mac port right now.  We may in the future, but right now - we don't.

We have to get new versions of 1.1 for Mac updated for Humble and GoG, too, I believe.  These are wine-wrapped, so I have to check and see if we can get those created.

Hello.  Just checking in to see if there's been any progress on this issue.  I still don't have any way to play QFI on my Mac without a steam port or a 1.1 update.

Hi Action Jack, we've made some good progress with the 1.1 version for Mac so hopefully we can that out to you via Humble very soon. I've tested it on El Capitan and so far it plays alright so will need to do a bit more further testing but so far, so good!

Any news on the Mac version? The Steam key is not yet available and the standalone version doesn't work at all under El Capitan. You seem to be aware of the issue and working on it from previous replies, but...?

Yes, we're still working on it - QFI will be getting an update across all platforms and OS's very soon, and should be compatible with El Capitan soon.

I was/am having the same problem with the GOG version (presumably the same Wine wrapped one they sell on Humble).  I have no idea what the problem is, but I can sometimes get it to launch by messing with the options in Wine.  It's really weird:  I will change a screen option or something and it will work, but only for one launch.  Sometimes it won't work at all, and sometimes switching everything back to the defaults will make it launch again.  I have no idea what is wrong with it.  But, I recommend people wanting to play before it (hopefully) gets fixed go to "Show Package Contents", launch "Wineskin", click on "Advnaced" and start messing around with some of the options.  You might get some extra launches that way.
