Banter and Chit-Chat! / Re: Save Steve Campaign

Hanging in there.  Some days are good, some are bad.  My lab reports/blood work is terrible.  My GFR, kidney function, is at 12% now.  I'll begin dialysis next month most likely.  My wife, Jordan, was tested and is a match, but there's still a bunch of time before I can do the transplant.  They are also still trying to discover the nature of the disease that reoccured and killed my transplant.  It's the same disease that originally killed my kidneys.  It's been affecting my transplant for the last two years, but just went critical this year.

It sucks.  I feel terrible a lot, but the support I've had from everyone has been amazing.  I'll make the road back.

As much as it sucks, I'll probably start feeling better after I begin dialysis.  Then maybe I can get a couple people to help me and send out more stuff.  Right now, I'm just trying to get through days.

People are always super aggro in the Kickstarter Comments.  I understand the frustration, but there's only so much I can do right now.  And it's just me, we're not some corporation or even really a company.  But I will get everything out, eventually.  I'm not just going to give up and let it fallow like some campaigns.  I really like the box and stuff we have and I want people to have it.  I just hope that at least 5% of the people who are super aggro really WANT the stuff and don't just want to bitch.

One dude who I sent the stuff to, well, I sent him a little extra to be nice and give a little "sorry about" the delay.  Dude put the stuff on EBAY the DAY he got it and tried to sell it for like $200 bucks.  Sigh.

If you can send me a save game - email it to info at infamous-quests.com, I can take a look and see if it's bugged and maybe fix it for you.

The save games look like this - AGSSAVE.00X - just send the most recent save that's not AGSSAVE.999

Colin, I'm so glad you're playing QFI and asking questions!  Please, ask away.  The guys here are helpful, and I'll try and chime in when I can.  (I'm one of the guys who wrote and made the game.)

Yep.  I saw that the other.  Cool - It's a smart move. Stranger Things became a huge juggernaut for Netflix; when we made that game, it was still kind of an underground cult hit.  It's super mainstream now, and it's good that a large team with resources will be able to make a game out of it.  I'm sure Telltale will do a fine job; it's the kind of thing they do.

She gets a lot of undue flak in this whole thing.  She's a legend in the film industry, having co-founded Amblin fucking Entertainment with Steven Spielburg and Frank Marshall.  She's been involved with countless productions of amazing films.  People love to heap shit on people, and she's getting a ton of it.

Business-wise, I can see how some suits would be upset at Solo - although a good movie, the price tag was WAAAAAAY above board for a non Saga Star Wars movie and the advertising campaign was pretty piss poor.  But thematically, Kennedy isn't to blame for people's little bitches about Star Wars as of late.

Well, I know when I had my Borg cybernetic implants removed, all I could wear for six months was a lycra body suit.  They called me "The Ham" and I was quarantined in my room for half a year. Apparently "No one wants to see that!". Hmmmph.

Well, social media and a change in my time management from day to day! In the hayday, I didn't have shit to do except sit on the net and post about things.  I've got so much more to think about. Deadlines and who to please. What to leave in... what to leave out.  Against the wind.  I'm still running against the wind. I'm older now but still running against the wind.

I'm also 40 now. I give way less of a fuck about how seriously I take Star Wars than when I was a teen, that's for sure.  For me, it's entertainment and I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for a lot.  I think a problem inherent in the Star Wars fandom is that with the size of it growing so much over 40 years, most people got MORE serious about it rather than less.  People get way pedantic about it now, and that's just the opposite of fun.

I really liked The Force Awakens.  It was a fun sci-fi flick.  Great climax and denoument.  Rogue One was amazing.  A war movie set in the Star Wars Universe. The Last Jedi was amazing - a real commentary about aging, failure, loss and redemption.  I think many people had a problem with that film because it makes them confront less than savory aspects of aging and personal failure.  Hero worship, hero cults and the notion of heroism is challenged as you age - and your failures can over-take you.  The contrast of youth and aging in this film hit me hard.  I understand much these days about getting older, losing your optimism, spirit and faith in things.  It definitely turned the Star Wars universe and cult worship on its head, and I like that.  It challenged me and my notions and I think we need more creative arts like that.  Too often we have art and entertainment that merely confirms our own notions and bias.

Haven't seen Solo yet, but I intend to.  Don't care who or what Lando is into, because he's awesome.

Yeah, Chad, hahah - infamous-adventures.com is gone.  The website got hacked and we lost most of our data in December... the will to restore it (and the time, effort and financial means to!) aren't there anymore.  We still own the domain, but it re-directs people to download the games on itch.io, as infamous-adventures has been done since the start of 2012.

People just don't engage as much on forums as they used to, myself included.  I can say I definitely had more free time for such pursuits 10-15 years ago!!
