Look sorry, I might have been a little hard on the game, if it was a new game, and not tied to a classic favorite, I would have been complementary. Mostly because there are precious few games along these lines.  I am looking forward to the final version of mages initiation anyway.

I am a fan of everything, agdi has done except the western comedy game...which was more annoying than funny.

The last point and click that gave me good natured laughs while having fun was quest for infamy, but that is the limit of how far I will go with comedy for what Roem was he was an interesting enough guy, and it was still a real game.

''fish on the wall cracked me up royally for some insane reason''. Also Prospero.

Guys I am not saying that a new thing cannot be good in its own right, but that if you remake a thing or adapt it be true to the spirt of it. When agdi did it like in kq2 remake, they added tons of content and reworked part 1,2, and 3 into something in keeping with the original but only more so.

I liked the way they expanded king Ghram. Its true he bit the big one in the cedric game I hated his attitude tword his son. I preferred agdi's king ghram. I loved sierras original Rosella and Alexander, but king Ghram was re-imagened best by agdi.

King ghram was a noble, his children were aristocratic, more so Rosella, did you see her at her brothers wedding? They were already approachable enough, because the whole family are also adventurers and very good natured. Noble both by blood and by nature.

They cant leave the concept of a fairy tale king and his family alone. I like the approach agdi had in giving it more meaning, it still had the fairytale touch but was not as random.

I was fascinated by the whole first mage sub-plot and the lore of the royal lines heritage they added. With legenimor, and the father...classic deft touch.

Complete with subtle yet punny serria style humor. Tradmark tombstone messages and everything.

I say take that new age dribble and stuff it. Its ooc. I very much liked the way they handled Conor and king Ghrams response in the cloud spirit cut scenes. It was very much in character for a old king in that traditional setting...and player choice as well.

From kq2 romancing the stones: ''King Ghram could not help but smirk, for one who so recently lived as a peasant, he speaks extraordinarily well'' that says it all, when you consider he also did knight him and make him next in line. Thats just the right and in character thing.

Even as it broke the ancient bloodline leading back to the first king. As such, Daventry legacy is broken by the fathers curse.

It would make sense that daventry should lose some of its magic, golden acorns as such, because legenimor enchanted it and the pacts broken, magic undone. Thats the way it gos in fairy tail realms.

I read about it, PC trash that violates the spirit of kingsquest hard and slow, like silverlining did, done by people that mean well but where not there and can not consider to understand the feel of the thing.

Its non-canon bs after the fact in my view, (OOC bad fanfiction) Conors game was even pushing it in my opinion (unless you supplement with the agdi fanfiction adaptation) which tries to patch things up with the cloud spirit cut-scenes, not cannon but oddly satisfying.

Agdi got it with there remakes, the right feel, with romancing the stones which was a great re-imaging that added something, but lost nothing, and there kq3 redux was gold.

It had no propaganda and anachronistic adaptive social commentary added ''read bullshit'' which I believe has no place in anything called kingsquest.

These people have there head up there butts so far they even have to change king Ghram being a noble, to start with, because that is not very politically correct, cant these a-holes even leave the past alone? The fantasy past no less. Talk about being insecure.

They should just make there own little nuttbuddy circle jerk games and leave nostalgic art to people who understand it. I am surprised they don't try to re imagine or remake peoples butt-holes in digital format to be more pc.

These games were sacred and innocent and I don't like it when people drop there pants and crap all over them, well meaning or not.

Yet some of these these people will never understand the true appeal of such games and there  adaptations and re-imagings are about up there with the Freddy Kruger or night  of the demons remakes.

Its like hellraiser with a not-Doug bradly fake or missing pinhead, holding a intervention in hell wearing a red pantsuit and funny black rimed glasses while listening to justin biber.

Hey guys! :)

Figured now that the old IA forums are slowing down now that people have moved here I should probably move my list here too as along with our old fans there are new ones here too, and new fans bring new information!

For details on what and why I made this the old thread is over at IA here, but basically I created a Quest for Glory section on my website paying tribute to the original QFG games and the great many successful and unsuccessful QFG related fan projects out there to make sure that we never forget them and that talented QFG fans are inspired to create new QFG projects in the future. To do this I created a list on the website and collected pics, vids, demos, and information for as many of them as possible.

This is my latest summary of the website list below.

......and kinda sort of Seinfeld (more in early episodes)....

A fun thing to note, is I first watched Seinfeld because I hear the woman that played the apartment tenant that got turned into a fairy, in a fav cult classic horror ''trolls''  was co staring in a sitcom. So I checked it out.

There is a game I cant find or even locate online now, it was about a fox guy it started with a poem about passing out from the nights merriment and awaking in a dark woods.

There is this continuing path through a dark forest and the pumpkin head gibbering monsters can jump out at you and kill you.

There are little abandoned building or something. The path tends to loop and there is some trick to it. I really want to find that game.

Tales from the darkside, twilightzone, night gallery  Shelly's fairy tale theater,  startrek next generation, with picard. Hell's Kitchen, with Gorden.

Going to skip over all my anime because i sense that was not the essence of the question.

I hated buffy, Angel and those three flake sisters btw.

As far as cheesy sitcoms I liked growing pains, for the cornball mild amusement, and kinda sort of Seinfeld (more in early episodes)  Brady bunch was pretty cool. The partridge family was bit depressing to me, I don't know why.

Mtv's old liquid television was cool .I liked bevis and butthead, Darla is fun.
Robot chicken sucked. Gary the rat was cool, and ren and stempy in small doses.

I am a major classic sierra fan but very strongly dislke LucasArts style. Its just my personal preference.

Merge with crystal shard or the mages initiation team at Himalayan. Ask for a meeting to discuss collaborations and synthesis of style.

I am about to go buy for 10 bucks, the Hugo horrific adventure/house of horror, (first game was seen under both names) trilogy off gog.

Its  a 25 or about, year old set of games that continue to bring me joy for fun and not just nostalgia. I considered buying Himalaya's, western gold miner game but it seems too purely SAM and Maxish/ lucus arts, for my personal taste from the reviews.

Looking forward to mage project by them though!

I played the first hugo on old boxy dial up aol, around when it was a new sort of thing.

Its not about graphics or newness or style but the essence of the game. Secondly its about artistic purity. A lot of people wont use those words but they know what I mean..and fun. Which can be campy fun even without being slapstick. (better if it seems unintentional for from a comedic perspective), or a bit sly or ironic.

A new age : Which has an entirely different meaning now than it once did, the term newager, in relation to this, that in context. They would ask me why pay 10 or 20 bucks for a 25 year old game and my answer would just be this:

Pure joy. For the love of playing it and the love of the game, the only reasons I have for doing anything worthwhile really, in life.

You know one thing I loved about Grimm fairy tales when I grew up? The shear number of tiny kingdoms and people across this world, the times of the tales, the mystery, and adventure, the opportunities and the wisdom of the people.  I think they should be required reading in grade school for children un propagandized, un annotated, so the children can come to there own interpretation.

Such a world as that of the brothers, would truly be heaven in my view, a paradise, a thinking mans eden, even in its more horrifying aspects.

That's part of the appeal of adventure games in my view.

Why I never liked the total sam and max approach, that's like an allegory for a way of thinking in fiction that never appealed to me much. It defeats the point of the time playing, in a way sam and max is probably to close to real life in the thinking of people, in a way or makes about as much sense these days from the point of view of new comedy films and books.

Its not even funny because everything is expected to be a joke, even when taken seriously, your never surprised with real humor you see and honest laughter? It just makes you tired, trying to play it and you cant take the characters seriously so you don't care what happens to them one way or the other. Your like whats the point?

I guess to me there is little difference in playing an adventure game and reading a fantasy novel besides the interaction. I take it seriously as art and take the same pleasure in it.

Fleshing out the characters history in the land the developed geography, that's always gave me a kick, like the author of wicked did with oz.

Man I am sorry that was not the point I was trying to make, the point was patience, and priority, of course the symbolic value, of backer items is enormous.

The backers do get something regardless though, they get the game they helped to make and in this case a mention in said game.

People should get what is promised, no doubt but not at the experience of the games in my view...And yes, in a perfect world should not be the case and intentions paving the road to hell and all that.

I contextually know, but I also understand both sides.

I was not meaning to be a bastard with my comments btw. I suppose the flavor of them is also influenced by the companies decision to shut down, which lets me know there struggling, and few more good games from them. Sad day. :(

We did that with QFI but for OOTT only Steve and Myself were using the profits from the sales to maintain a wage, everyone else was paid up front.

You would literally have to do something else to fund this, and do it for the love of the art and whatever profits you happen to receive.

There are easier legitimate ways to make money online as you doubtlessly know.

You have to love what you do in any case for others to fall in love with it, same for writing, it shows. I think you guys do, to be honest.

The actual truth is I am a published writer, my punctuation and even spelling in real life is horrible btw. I type and speak into a recording device I pay someone to structure this, this is a cost I incur that initially was over my advances.

I did not let this stop me but kept at it until this was no longer the case.

My subject matter, is also not mainstream you know.

I used to be a info seller in the old days of such pre internet. I was not a cheat I followed up, and I made money.
