Monitor technology is really advancing
« on: October 23, 2017, 06:43:56 PM »
I recently purchased a monitor that's only 1/4 inch thick. 22 inch 1920/1080 HDMI and it puts out no heat!
Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman, once sent me autographed photos that put me on cloud nine. The photos are on my living room wall.

@nameless  Yeah i can relate to your post.  A year ago i bought a 28 inch UHD Samsing monitor.  Its 1/4 inch thicj\k and is stunning for movies and games.  I actually had to buy a new vid card with dpi connection to take it to the limits of its resolution.  I can remember when i paid 400 bucks for a 19' crt trinitron CRT tube monitor that weighed 50 pounds.  This monitor is 10 pounds.  Chadly.

I've been mulling over about a couple of things:
Remember the old CCD technology (charged coupled device) used in video cameras? It collected info and put it on tape (vhs, etc.) Why in heck can't this be applied to a printer, thereby eliminating ink and toner? The 8.5/11 sheets would actually be the same type of tape except in sheets. DUH... am I the only one to think of this?

Secondly, what about a container of monitor paint, whereby you just literally use a brush or sprayer to paint a square area on virtually any surface, wait for it to dry, attach a cable to it and instantly have your own personalized monitor.

the facts that make tvs shit

no one has 4k tv yet (in terms of stream)

comcast  max is 1080 60fps
I have 4k 50 inch 120 MR tv
and I cant use it for shit other than... my pc

a few netflix movies and streams from other places DO have 4k,
and blue ray

but, overall, if you stream 4k from a network there goes the data cap

what a wasted world of tv..

sad but true, tvs and monitors are SO far ahead of friggen providers.

sheeesh get it togetherrrrr providers!
my tv looks great but its forced down from 4k to 1080 and only 60 hz/MR from 120 MR!!
